OH NO, SAY IT AIN"T SO ! HOW WOULD YOU REACT ??

We enter Sunday with the most important game in Packer history since we played in our last Super Bowl.

We play our hated divisional rivals and the coach who proclaimed his primary goal was to dominate the Green Bay Packers. When I think of my feelings toward da Bears, I grin as I envision Charles Martin throwing Jim McMahon to the ground like silly putty and Kenny Stills flying in to level Matt Suhey five seconds after a play ended.

While the rivalry may not be as bitter, it is still very alive. For the first time in over 60 years, one teams gets to send the other team home and end their season.

Even an Anti Homer has to look at the rosters of these two teams and believe that Green Bay is the more talented and better team. However, we still have to play the game and it seems that the Chicago Bears have had an unprecedented run of luck this year. They faced multiple backup quarterbacks, and seemed to receive some favorable calls from the NFL Officiating crews. Heck, they even witnessed the collapsing of a dome and as a result their game was played in Chicago Bear weather conditions. Anybody ever recall a team in the NFC championship game getting there without beating a team over .500 in the playoffs ? Me either.

I wince when I say that, but what if this is just the Bears year ? I pondered this today and am having a hard time with the question. So I decided to do a short blog to my fellow rats to see what our reaction would be ?

Everybody take a deep breath.

Imagine it's about 5:30 PM Sunday afternoon. The game has just ended. It was a hard fought game and ended very closely. Peppers was a very disruptive force, Cutler was efficient, Martz was brilliant, and Deven Hester took one to the house.

Yes, the unthinkable happened. Green Bay just lost a close one and the Chicago Bears are going to the Super Bowl. The whole thought sounds sick. But what if it happens ?

As we watch da Bears Celebrate, we now go back and reflect on the current season. And once again I can't come to a conclusion on how I feel.

If the above situation did occur, how would you feel about the 2010 season ?

Would you consider it to be a complete success because we made it this far with all the injuries ?
Would it be an absolute failure because the Bears won the season series and they eliminated out shot at a World Championship ?
Or would it be somewhere in between ?

I often come out with off the wall thoughts and now I leave the ball in your court. Consider this an early therapy session on what could occur Sunday. What is your reaction ?
