A Horse Named Texas
One of the girls in my daughter's riding stable has a beautiful chestnut-colored horse named "Texas." The horse has the same chestnut color all over its body except for a white spot on its right side about the size of a frisbee.
The white spot, however, is not circular. It almost appears as if a map-maker had meticulously painted a small map of the state of Texas onto the side of the horse! Hence, it is named "Texas."
As it was being ridden around in the arena, I couldn't help but smile when the judge called out, "Next is Cassie riding Texas!"

I have been weighed and found lacking as a Dad, 'cuz I refused to buy my daughter an Appaloosa when she was 10 years old.

Horse ownership is so expensive, we don't even own the horse my daughter rides. We just have a half-lease on the horse.
Our daughter pays her share of the 1/2 lease by earning money collecting pop cans, baby-sitting, and dog-sitting.
