Massachusetts tight end Jean Sifrin is another who has not taken a normal route to the combine.

Sifrin -- who was born in the Bahamas -- is 27 years old. He was listed at 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds by UMass, and for a guy that big, he moves well and is surprisingly agile. While raw, he has good hands and put up solid stats in UMass' pass-happy offense (the Minutemen coach is former NFL assistant Mark Whipple).

Somewhere else I read that he runs a 4.6 40 yard dash, which is pretty good for a 6-7, 250 pound guy. That one catch in the end zone is pretty sweet. He is 27, though.

I wonder if his age will keep him from being drafted high...

Raw and 27 years of age might be an issue for any team drafting him high but where is he projected to go in the Draft Pugger?

I feel a trade back is in order. A team might be willing to move up just a few spots to get that 5th year on the rookie contract by selecting in the late first instead of early 2nd. I like a lot of guys, but all of the no-brainer guys will most likely be taken before 30. Trading back would leave us with two seconds, a third, two fourths, and as many as three fifths.

In the 2014 Draft TT didn't trade up or down and that's a departure from what we have grown accustomed to seeing. Last season we also saw TT draft in round 1 for need. That's a departure from his normal style of drafting the BPA.

I see opportunities where TT trading down could work for him as you suggest in Rounds 2 and 3.

I disagree. I see no departure from his normal drafting procedure. I think HHCD at #21 was likely the BPA on his board. Many thought he would be drafted earlier than that. Sometimes fortune smiles on you and the BPA is also at a position of need. I think that's what happened here.

It was definitely good luck. Most mocks had him gone 10 picks ahead of our draft position. If you ran the draft again right now, we wouldn't even stand a chance.

Looking at this again I agree with you.

Ha Ha Clinton Dix was mocked to go earlier than TT's pick. The stars simply aligned and Dix was the perfect choice for TT and the Green Bay Packers.

I'm guessing that your thinking that Bryan Bulaga won't be retained; therefore draft TJ Clemmings as a replacement?

As per the Drafttec.com current mock:

TT could trade out of Round 1 and pick TJ Clemmings in the top of Round 2.

Drafttec possibly has 6' - 6" and 334 lb ... DT Jordan Phillips or... 6'- 2" - 232 lb ILB Ramik Wilson available for TT and his late 2nd Rd. pick.

Tons of trades in this version. Wasn't able to get Clemmings or Phillips, but I'm happy with the haul. Three tight ends, two corners, two inside linebackers, a safety, a fullback, a nose tackle, an offensive tackle, and one receiver for good measure. We know TT is taking one receiver.

I'm not sure how likely it would be for Rollins to fall into the early third, but he is a bit raw, so it's possible.
