San Francisco (Brandon 494) is on the clock.
I'll give Brandon until 10:00 to make 49ers pick. If he hasn't checked in by then, I'll make the pick.
With the 2nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select
Solomon Thomas - DE - Stanford
While the temptation to go QB is strong here, any QB in this draft would be a reach at #2.
Quote:
BOTTOM LINE Explosive defender who combines strength, quickness, and a muscle-car motor to drive him around the field making play after play. Has the hands and feet to be a quick-win specialist and the size to fit as a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive end who can reduce inside for pass-rush downs. He has all the athletic traits to become a high-impact player and possesses more than enough skill and talent to believe he will continue to elevate his game as a pro. Thomas has the potential to become the best defender from this draft class and a future all-pro.
With the 3rd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select:
Marshon Lattinore - CB - Ohio St.
For better or worse, the Bears have hitched their wagon to Mike Glennon at the QB position. With no WR worthy of the #3 pick, and being in the same division as Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford, the Bears go with the best CB in the draft.
Quote:
BOTTOM LINE Average-sized, one-year starter with explosive athleticism and a loaded tool box. He has the feet, hips and agility to be a lockdown cornerback and the ball skills to make teams pay for looking in his direction. His lack of experience could show up early, but he has the confidence and competitive nature that should help him overcome those issues. He has the ability to become a Pro Bowl cornerback early in his career.
1. Cleveland - Myles Garrett - DE - Texas A&M
2. San Francisco - Solomon Thomas - DE - Stanford
3. Chicago - Marshon Lattimore - CB - Ohio St.
Jacksonville (Cheesehead Craig) is on the clock.

*have
Joe, what do you think of putting up a timetable on each pick, to get this done sometime Wednesday night?
People could plan to post then and we would give a heads up to posters about when the pick gets made for you.
If we want to finish late on Wednesday, we have 84 hours for 29 picks. Just under three hours per pick.
So Craig has until 5 PM to select at #4. BZnDallas then knows he can come back at 5 PM to pick in the worst case. Each late person gets no more than three hours, each prepared person could save us 2.5 hours easily. Overnight will screw this up a bit. Can play this by ear.
With the 4th pick in the 2017 Packer Rats Mock Draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select:
Leonard Fournette - RB - LSU
Blake Bortles needs help in taking his next steps to become a great QB and a powerhouse like Fournette can help him do that start taking this offense to another level. The Jags really need offensive help and Leonard will deliver it in spades.
Not many players come into the league already a full-on grown man like him, he's going to make an immediate impact.
With the 5th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft the Tennessee Titans select Jamal Adams - Safety - LSU.
Tennessee needs as much help in the secondary as anybody. Adams at number 5 is a no brainer. I'd have more but what hasn't already been said about Jamal Adams?
With the 6th pick in the Packerrats Mock Draft The New York Jets-Jets-Jets select:
Mitchell Trubisky - QB - North Carolina
With only 1 year of experience as a college starter, he may not be ready as a rookie. But the Jets have a solid backup in Josh McCown, so this is a good situation for him.
Quote:
BOTTOM LINE Trubisky is a high-end quarterback prospect who possesses NFL size, a big arm and the ability to throw with accuracy from the pocket or on the move. Despite playing in a spread-based offense, he's a full-field reader who does a very good job of getting an early read on the safeties before crafting his course of action. Trubisky will have to become much more pocket aware and do a better job of recognizing and attacking blitzes to back NFL defensive coordinators off. He hasn't put all the pieces together yet, but the puzzle is all right in front. Trubisky projects as a good starting quarterback with a high floor and the potential to be great.

Carolina (Brandon 494) is on the clock.
Fuck I missed out. anyone wanna give up a pick or two?
I will take the New Orleans picks

Cincinnati and Justin Harrell are on the clock!
2RBs and only 1 QB in the top 8. Interesting.
Cincinnati ( Justin Harrell) is on the clock. I'm going to make the pick. We simply don't have the time to wait 8+ hours between picks.
With the 9th pick in the Packerrats Mock Draft the Cincinnati Bengals select
Jonathan Allen - DT - Alabama
Buffalo (Guinness) is on the clock.Quote:
Outstanding leader and athlete with an ability to rush the passer from outside or inside. Has produced against the run and pass thanks to his strength, agility, elite hand usage, and plus footwork. He might not be the cleanest fit inside as a full-time tackle for some teams, but his talent should trump any size concerns. Allen is a likely first-round selection with Pro Bowl potential down the road.

Buffalo and Guiness are on the clock!
Reminder that Nutz has both NO picks. You may wish to change the list.
Doug Waley (or Russ Brandon? Who's in charge?) looks wistfully at Trubisky..he could've, should've fallen
Watson is briefly considered and dismissed. They'd like an OT but this doesn't seem to be the year for it.
Truly believing that the strong defense of two years ago can make a re-appearance they choose to pick the BofensivePA. The Bills select Mike Williams, WR, Ohio State
Sources Tell Us "Really pretty looking when you watch him down on the field but he's not there yet. I think he'll get there but he's not there yet. I don't think he's going to run as fast as people think. When college players get up here and find out that cornerbacks are faster and more physical, there is an adjustment period. I think it will take him some time to figure things out but I think he'll do it. He's going to be good, I just don't know if he's going to be a star." -- NFC Pro Personnel Director

New Orleans and Nutz are on the clock!
If we get to the #14 pick between 7 AM and 4 PM today, someone can make the Philadelphia pick for me . Choose from John Ross, Reuben Foster, Marlon Humphrey and Christian McCaffrey.
If people don't start getting their picks in faster, we may have to scrap this thing.
With the #11 pick the Saints take Derek Barnett, DE Tennessee
Browns, despite all assurances of being calm, rational and not in a hurry, view their second first round pick as capital to be used to acquire a QB.
But the one that they have graded highest in the first round is gone (Trubisky). If this were to occur, they would want to trade down. But while QBs make teams crazy, no one is that crazy about these QBs this early. Only the Jets were contemplating moving up and the got their guy just by waiting.
Forced to choose a QB, its between, Watson, Mahomes and Webb. Watson doesn't seem to have a huge NFL upside. Mahomes has mechanics that make Jay Cutler look reliable. Webb has a second round grade, though he is pretty well rounded. But as an NFL QB, Webb might be Joe Flacco (which starts another kind of argument) or Nick Foles. With out a trade down, Browns also consider other positions here with Trubisky gone.
Best talent value on board is probably Howard, but the Browns have Barnidge. They need safeties but both the top ones are off the board. The filled a hole with an EDGE rusher already. They need a Tackle but that would be worse value at this spot than QB. They could use a WR and there is talent there though its not top ten locks. They also could use a corner.
I think Watson and Webb will make the analytic's guys nervous for two different reasons (Watson low upside with measurables, Webb with modest college success and failure to beat out Mahomes). Hue Jackson probably will try to convince people he can fix Mahomes sidearming.
Howard would help the offense even if the hole there isn't as huge as at WR. Highest rated WRs are both 15-20 pick rated: John Ross or Corey Davis. They have their pick of prospects outside of Lattimore at CB, but the value here might be second round given the depth.
With the 12th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns, who wanted to trade down, select:
OJ Howard - TE - Alabama
Alabama TEs world once marvelously for the Browns. They will try to strike gold a second time. Its also who the beat reporters want so they can recycle all their Ozzie Newsome stories.
pbmax and Arizona are on the clock!
On Earth2, Brice Arians, having won a Super Bowl after getting lucky by beating the Packers, needs to upgrade his offense and replace Palmer with a prospect he can mold and cement his QB Guru credentials. He would like Kizer, Mahomes and Webb to polish.
But on Earth Prime they didn't carry their luck forward and win a SB, which means while Arians' reputation is still good, he doesn't have the five year window a SB win would provide. They need a player who will contribute right away, not be a pet project. They will take a QB, but will Jet it by taking someone is Round 2 or later. They will then pray for the continued health of Palmer.
Beyond a successor for Palmer, Cardinals need O line help (Guard), corners, ILBs, D lineman and WRs.
O line quality is pure second round other at Guard. Corners will be plentiful later. Best D lineman are gone.
Value can be had at LB. They resigned Dansby though to replace Minter.
With the 13th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select:
Reuben Foster - LB - Alabama
Joemailman and Philadelphia are on the clock!
Nuts will pick for Joe given his instructions.
The Saints already took Derek Barnett.
But they are willing to trade Derek Barnett to the Cardinals if the Cardinals select Gareon Conley and trade him to the Saints
