Yeah, I've heard both those albums (i think we are dating ourselves by calling them that though). I feel the same about them as I do DM. It's all pretty good, but, they really haven't had a new idea in a LONG time. Both are in that Rolling Stones phase of their careers. You catch them cause they are legends, but they long since have lost the fire.Originally Posted by No Mo Moss
Phoenix was the original backing band for Air. Superb. I'm sure you've heard it, but I love the soundtrack to Virgin Suicides. Playground Love is pure melancholy.
NIN: Not 3 years ago. Headliners were Cure (very bad show, no energy) and Radiohead (amazing show). Highlights were unannounced Beck, Death Cab, Mogwai, and Belle and Sebastian. Lowlight: Wilco cancelling. Lots of great bands.
Last year Bauhaus were there. No NIN. But, with Coldplay, Snow patrol, Chem Bros, Doves, Mercury Rev who could complain. Stereophonics put on a hell of a show.
Massive Attack and Sigur Ros will be great this year.
