I will spend mine on a new fridge and microwave (both are crapping out now), because my budget couldn't swing it otherwise.
I personally don't like this stimulus maneuver...
We send out money our gov't can't afford to spend. So we essentially borrow it from countries like China, which does wonders for our economy in the long-term.
Now I hear some want a second stimulus package. For God's sake, enough already!!
If you're going to spend money, spend it on infrastructure that's falling apart in this country. That way we are employing American workers and helping our country.
Short term it's more or less a PR move, long-term it will hamstring us.

Anyone know why they are excluding dependents greater than 17 years of age? Seems dumb as those parents are typically paying a good amount of money in tuition.
What do you need a zoom lens for now that Brett is gone?Originally Posted by GBRulz

I suggest sending your checks to Blackwater so they can hire a few more Bulgarian security guards to work in Iraq.

These checks are just another idiotic thing that Congress has done. And another example of penalizing the wealthy for working hard and making their money.
They penalize successful families in two ways:
1. For clearing the 150k threshold of earnings
2. Penalizing families for working hard and putting their kids through college. Financial Aid is set-up in such a manner that a parental contribution is expected, and as a result they can claim you as a dependent and get a good amount of that money back. However, they're still paying to support the person they are getting screwed over in the process.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Equal rights and fair treatment my ass.
You wouldn't be bitching if you were getting a check.

It's never a bad thing when the government gives some of that money back--since they are so friggin' inefficient at spending it.
While I agree with the inefficiency, I have to question where this money is coming from?!?Originally Posted by HarveyWallbangers
The budget is already resulting in trillion dollar losses, and that is built around everyone getting a standard tax return. Now give million and millions of families upwards of 1500-2000 back?!? Where is that money coming from?
I don't see a need to keep creating imaginary money and worrying about it later. We never should have left the gold standard.
