With twins still under one year, she decided it wasn't very practical, or cost efficient means of transportation since I already have a thirsty Ram 1500 quad cab 4x4 (with a hemi of course).
My dream is a '71 Hemi-Cuda convertible with a four speed manual. Oh to dream!

Not that its going to win any races on the drag strip but wife wants a Saturn Sky when they are released. I would like to see her get a 350Z or Z4 but she has a phobia with what she calls "status" type cars. I just want her in something relatively safe and reliable. Anyone here anything on if GM/Saturn is hitting the mark on this one??? I know they are counting on it being a big seller.

    Nick,

I actually have looked at the Solstice and it looks pretty much like what the Sky is suppose to look like. Since they are both GM vehicles, I wonder how much of the Sky is using Solstice parts?

My all-time favorite is the Catalina convertible, preferably, sky-blue

I'm not sure which year is the best, but I like the 1960 and 1964 vintage.

What are your thoughts on this car. I love it and can afford it now, even with the outrageous $2100 'gas guzzler' tax. Am I out of my mind?

    Mazzin,

Have you seen those Honda commercials where they show the person and the car either with a front view or profile, and the characteristics sort of match. I think you look like your truck, especially the grill work!

(Look, I'm just teasing you a bit. You look very nice, and I'm sure you're looking forward to losing the braces. I just had to post this, against my better judgment, because it was the first thing I thought of when you posted your picture along with your truck)

I'll always have fond memories of my first car--the family's hand-me-down '65 Rambler Ambassador Station Wagon. Sure it wasn't "manly" but it was my first car and it got me where I wanted to go.

i think those chargers are a great bargain for how much they bring to the table
425 hp for around 35,000 is a pretty good deal, and they aren't bad on the eyes

the only thing i don't like about them is the 4 doors, this model should be a 2-door imo

Thanks for the comments guys. I'd like the 2-door as well, but I gotta haul a coupla kids around the neighborhood. What ticks me off the most about this car (other than the curb weight and gas guzzler tax) is that there is no manual transmission available. I bet I could let 'er out to 70 in second gear!

This has to be the absolute best option for a guy who wants a real car, but is trapped in suburbia and would instantly die if he purchased a crappy-looking, spirit-sapping minivan.
