Thread: Packerats 2010 Mock Draft

  1. #21
you missed a couple of possible options for ted

    cj spiller
    jahvid best
    tim tebow (yes i'm serious)
    anthony davis
    charles brown
veldheer (still serious, you never know)
    terrance cody
    rolando mcclain
    brandon spikes
    jerry hughes
    patrick robinson
    syd'quan thompson

and i'm sure you could add a few more

the point being, we just have no clue where tt is going to go with that pick. no of us, including mocks, guessed the justin harrell pick, or the clay matthews move

True, any one of those is possible, but I went through a lot of mocks, and added the ones that Mel Kiper and other experts think TT will draft. I think the next Packer could be on our poll....or not.

I think the best way to establish the Packer pick is with a vote after we get to #23, depending on who's left on the board, and then if there isn't a clear favorite after (say) one day, do a runoff vote that includes only the serious candidates.

That is, if 9 people vote for Brandon Graham, and 8 people vote for Charles Brown, while 8 people vote for Trent Williams and 3 people vote for Bruce Campbell, and one person votes for Jerry Hughes, don't just give it to Graham since 10 people suggested an OLB while 19 people voted for a tackle. Just do a runoff for one day just between Graham, Brown, and Williams.

Ok, good idea, I'll conduct another poll when it's Green Bays turn, so we can all have input.

I think you should add a category called "No Clue."

TT surprises me with his first pick just about every year, maybe with the exception of Hawk. So I have absolutely "No Clue" what he'll do this year. Hell, if Bradford or Clausen drop to #23 I wouldn't put it past him to draft one of them.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

Don't forget to give me the 14th overall pick too. The seahawks also own that bad boy!

cj spiller----- most likely will be gone by our pick, although if hes their i pray that TT picks him, this guy is a difference maker, ran a 4.37 i think
    jahvid best
tim tebow (yes i'm serious)----wont be a first round pick
    anthony davis
    charles brown
veldheer (still serious, you never know)
    terrance cody
    rolando mcclain
    brandon spikes
    jerry hughes
patrick robinson---- probably wont be a first round pick either
syd'quan thompso----- wont be a first round pick

cj spiller- Will be gone by the 23rd pick
jahvid best- Could be added to the poll
tim tebow (yes i'm serious)- Really?
anthony davis- Will be gone by the 23rd pick
charles brown- Could be added to the poll
veldheer (still serious, you never know)-Would be a huge reach
terrance cody- Not worth a 1st round pick and not a position of need
rolando mcclain- Will be gone by the 23rd pick
brandon spikes- Not worth a 1st round pick and not a position of need
jerry hughes- Would love him in the 2nd round, not worth a 1st round pick
patrick robinson- Will be selected in the late 1st to early 2nd but don't think he fits our scheme, struggle a lot in zone coverage.
syd'quan thompson- Would love if we selected this guy.....in the 3rd round

You are right no one knew TT was going to draft Harrell or Matthews but both players got drafted around the pick they were projected. TT might trade down but he isn't going to reach with the 23rd pick.

it all depends on who's stuff you look at

some have spiller has a top ten, some have him dropping past us

many have bulaga has a top ten, others have him as late first round
some have iupati as top 20 while a lot don't have him in the first
some have bruce campbell in the top 10, others have him in the second
and yes i have one mag in front of me that has syd'quan thompson as a first round guy
and many places now have veldheer as the #6 or 7 tackle
jerry hughes was a first rounder when the season ended, nows he's somehow a later second round guy

we don't know, and it seems most of the so called experts don't either

oh, and many had harrell as a late first to second round guy, thats what made that pick so shocking. i only saw 1 or 2 guys that thought he would go anywhere near where we got him

That because Harrell was coming off a injury and TT took a risk which we all know didn't work out.

Your right we don't know how the draft will fall but you can tell which mock drafts actually know what they are talking about and which ones clearly don't know shit.

Spiller dropping past us? Not happening
Iupati falling out of the 1st round? Not happening
Bruce Campbell falling out of the 1st round? Not happening
Syd'quan Thompson a first round pick? Not happening

You should draft Maxie, you know a lot about these guys, Tampa Bay is still open, they pick 3rd.

I don't know. Maxie might have the Bucs take Herb Adderly or something.

Problem is I don't know a thing about Tampa Bay. No matter what people say about taking the best available, there is a real element of picking-for-need that goes into the draft.

If you are completely uninformed, you can pick for the Raiders. If you're not just totally absorbed with triangle numbers, you'd probably do better at it than Al Davis.

I'll take a slot or two.

Also since this is such a deep draft I move that we do the second round too.
