Thread: Former Packers still pursuing the dream

  1. #821
    The dream of continuing paychecks from the Packers, that is. Scott Wells, Earl Dotson, Bernardo Harris and Nick Barnett. Whoops, missed Ryan Grant.

    Never could stay mad at Dotson for jumping offside given that he was playing with impaired hearing. It would only be better with him sitting next to Marco Rivera.

    Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    Ravens expected to sign Joe Callahan.

    Mike Garafolo

    @MikeGarafolo
    With RG3 sidelined, the #Ravens are expected to sign QB Joe Callahan, pending a physical, source says. Former #Packers backup saw action with the #Eagles last preseason. Baltimore OC Greg Roman coached Callahan in ‘08 at Holy Spirit HS.

    For a minute, I was expecting a Derrick Mayes update that made no sense.

    Not anymore.

    @RapSheet
    Former #Texas, #Bears, and #Bengals star RB Cedric Benson was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday night in Austin, TX. He was 36. Sam Bassett, his attorney, issued this statement:

    Star? I guess he did have 3 OK seasons with Cincy.

    RIP

    He was a big deal in college and this occurred in Texas I believe.

    How did I miss this? Did Scott Wells only come back for the reunion tour after Ted was kicked upstairs?

    I wonder if he still holds that grudge that McGinn was sure was a bad sign for Ted's tenure.

    I'm sure the Cleft Crusty edit would read: "Cedric Benson, Former #Texas star and NFL running back (#Bears, and #Bengals)..."*

    *that's what you get for $0.65/hour

    @Gil_Brandt
    Cedric Benson was one of the greatest HS athletes I've ever seen. He led Midland Lee to 43-3 record in three seasons and three 5A Texas state titles, scoring total of 15 TDs in those championships. Drafted by Dodgers, too. Enjoyed my time with him at 2005 draft. Rest Easy

    I don't think I have ever heard rest easy before in this context. Unless I missed an update.

    ANYBODY WATCH NO ?

    Our old Friend Mr Hill just threw two TD's to lead a comeback and beat San Diego
    LIFE IS ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS; I JUST REALIZED THIS. The MILWAUKEE BUCKS have won the same number of championships over the past 50 years as the Green Bay Packers. Ten years from now, who will have more championships, and who will be the fart in the wind ?
