Perhaps all of those things are true. That and, if an assistant has played in the league for a while, has done well with the money that he has earned, and has a family situation, like a wife who doesn't care for the living arrangement or a child who is going to be out of the house soon, then he can afford to simply step away. Like Wood said, they can always come back if they left on good terms.
