Offical Packers - Lions Game Thread 12/28/14

After 16 gruelling weeks the regular season comes down to today. Win and get a first round bye in the playoffs or lose and play on the road next week in the Wild Card Round.

If the Packers lose people will say the Packers can't deal with a physical defence that can get pressure with 4 rushers.

If the Packers win people will look at the Lions record and realize the only team they beat with a winning record was Green Bay at home the whole season. The last above average O they faced in NE put up 34 points on them.

The Packers win pulling away 38-17.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

Could be the last Packer/Lions game for Suh. He'll be a free agent, and with both Stafford and Johnson having cap hits of over 20 mil next year, he could be tough to sign. He'll try to make it a memorable one, but it won't be enough.

    Packers 26
    Lions 17

The Lions could franchise him...at $26 mill. Crazy.

Good job launching the thread early, TD. Bodes well for today.

    Packers win 34-17.

    Rodgers settles MVP debate.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

What do Lions fans and media think? Do they think Suh is gone after this year?

They do. They think he wants a big coast market so he can become a "brand."

A summation of the possibility of a Green Bay Packer loss is simple:

If the Packers lose today it'll be clear that the team simply ...... choked !

If the Green Bay Packers lose today. Aaron Rodgers doesn't deserve the NFL MVP.

There is too much at stake today and the Packers domination @ Lambeau Field will continue:

The score will be Packers 27 - Lions 20

    GO PACK GO !

I hope so. I read today that Jaws on BSPN is now saying Wilson should be MVP. The crowd had gotten larger ever since the Buffalo game.

If Rodgers comes out and puts up 3+ TDs against one of the top 2 defenses in the league in a winning effort that locks up a first round bye, the MVP award is his.

McCarthy has to DYNAMICALLY ALTER his usual approach in this game. You can't run against Detroit...especially early in the game. You should utilize short passing to spread the field and wear down their defensive front 7. Even then...we'll be fortunate to reach 100 yards on the ground AS A TEAM.

We win this game through the air. We win this game by spreading the ball all over the field. We win this game by giving the Lions looks they haven't seen before. Cobb needs to be in the backfield at least 25% of the time today. Cobb has to have a big game today. He is the guy with the capacity to make huge plays in space and spread the field from sideline to sideline. That is how you beat Detroit. Few teams have the talent to threaten the entire field on offense. Green Bay does. You have to utilize that or you don't have a chance against the Lions defense.

I wonder when the last time a player won the MVP award who didn't even earn a Pro Bowl nomination?

    Jaws is a dumbass.

Let Wilson have the MVP... it would just drive his price up.
