Big news on QB FA front!

Or not; Brady Quinn is making a comeback attempt
Another quarterback to add to your free agency list: Brady Quinn, who is making one last comeback attempt after going into broadcasting last fall. He’s been working out in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with former NFL quarterback Jeff Christensen, who helped turn Jimmy Garoppolo from a high school linebacker to an NFL quarterback, and also is working with Drew Stanton and Kirk Cousins, among others

He is probably thinking there are a lot of QBs no better or worse than him (see: "Flynn, Matt") who have hung on for years as backups raking in a million a year or so. It's not bad work, if you can get it.

Matt Flynn has 17 TD passes in 7 starts. Brady Quinn has 12 TD passes in 20 starts. Flynn is a much better QB, although Quinn probably has more natural talent.

Flynn's had the benefit of playing in M3's system.

Sure. I'm not saying Matt Flynn is a good quarterback. I'm just saying Brady Quinn has proven to be a terrible one. There is a reason he's not on an NFL roster despite a dearth of NFL-quality QB's.

Na, Flynn isn't better, just has played in much better situations.

Until now, teams have approached Quinn as a potential starter. He disappoints, and they let him go. As a committed backup, I think he would be very good. Really football-smart guy, who Charlie Weis said picked up his system faster than any QB he had been around, including Tom Brady.

He may have been great in the film room, but he sucked on the field.

For a committed #2 (not one being groomed as a starter) many teams want the film room guy who can help on the sidelines. Some teams deny it, but they pull in their horns if the #2 has to play. Quinn could do fine in that type of situation.

Jimmy Garoppolo Drew Stanton and Kirk Cousins -Wow, that's a list of heavyweights, to be sure. Quinn would probably have better odds taking over for Leftshark.
