    Hedge against future cap problems?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Saints are still 20 million over the cap. When does the fire sale start?

they were waaaay over last year too, they made 2 or 3 moves and then managed to sign a big name free agent and were safely back under the cap

Yeah, but their cap situation is starting to hurt them. They're not a playoff team anymore. Jairus Byrd was the big UFA they signed, and they probably wished they hadn't. They are in a bad situation with a declining team, big salaries, and an old, but still very good QB.

Raiders could dump Schaub, Woodley and one or two other non-performers and easily be more than $70 mil under the cap.

Colts and Packers only serious playoff contenders in the top ten of that list.

Seashits have room, but Russell Wilson looming.

Will Blackmon is available after the Jaguars can't remember why they signed him.

Also the Eagles are rumored to be trading LeSean McCoy to the Bills for Kiko Alsonso.

Looks like the McCoy trade has happened. That would mean the end of C.J. Spiller in Buffalo.

Probably. Start of the League's new year.

Rosenhaus (McCoy's agent) is Tweeting its not official and a couple of people have commented that means there is nothing they can do about it but he's going to demand to be heard. If they weren't forewarned, its in Rosenhaus' business interest to make a stink so he does get a call next time.

Rapport said LaDanian Thomlinson was told by McCoy that he did not expect to be back next year with the Eagles. Relationship with Kelly had cooled he reportedly claimed.

What an awesome trade for the Eagles. I expect this might be a trade that works out for both teams, a la Clinton Portis <-> Champ Bailey, but McCoy is 27 this year and probably only has a year or two left before he starts to decline. Alsonso is in his third year and is probably the best coverage linebacker in a pass-happy league.

Lion nation biting its collective nails over the Suh situation. Most want to see them re-sign him at any cost.

I'd think he'd be back in Detroit. Have to think the Lions brass feels similarly about the best DT in football...

I hope they do. Let him destroy their cap situation for the next 3-4 years while they remain a mediocre team.
