On this we agree. The civil forfeiture laws are plain nutty.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Worse than nutty - they're unconstitutional.

I try to avoid reading stories like Guions... they make me sick to my stomach to remind me that I live in a country whose government is completely lawless.

I used to think like this until I got arrested in Mexico three times in one day for "being there".

Then I realized we had some rights and 'this fucking place is just insane'... then I married a mexican girl (from Georgia) and made German-Mexican babies.

Can't say you're completely wrong -- and it's hard to buy anything from the government -- but it's a lot worse just about everywhere else.

I sense a story in here somewhere...
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

Mexico doesn't have the rule of law that controls and constrains their government - the point in cases like Guions, forefeiture, DHS, EPA, DEA, et al, is that we are becoming like those other countries. They have lawless governments, and we now have lawless government. The only difference between them and us is that we are coming down from on-high, and they've been wallowing low for decades if not centuries.

My wife is Filipino - go to the Philippines and go into any mall. They look just like malls here - except for 2 things, 1) the women are much hotter ; and 2) there are paramilitary troops walking around sporting automatic rifles.

Last time I was there I accidentally left a carry-on bag on a bus - it had my passport in it!!! I played holy hell trying to get it back. I was literally whisked into a dank, 1 lightbulb room, with a sparse table and 1 chair. Then straight out of hollywood, a fat cop who was wearing his uniform pants, boots, and a white T-shirt came in and starting grilling me like I was a captured CIA agent, lol...

Somewhere along the line I mentioned my wife's name, and the guy says "... is she Lucien's daughter"?? I said yes... he laughs, slaps me on the back, and tells me they are good friends going back to High School!! Congratulates me on our marriage, gives me my passport back, and gives us an escort to the port where we our ferry was getting ready to depart - made it with about 10 minutes to spare, or we couldn't have gotten off the island til the next day, and I would have missed my flight home.

I've been to plenty of third world countries - the poverty is sad and depressing; but like all countries there are socioeconomic tiers - some of the wealthiest people in the world live in Mexico, China, etc... it's good to be "connected", but to be connected, one must be corrupt.

It's the name of the game - have to step on the "little people" to get that house on the hill.
