    Until now, they have been somewhat sloppy with their cap, and it hasn't hurt them very much. The same types of mistakes now will hurt them, because core players with big contracts will limit their flexibility to overcome the mistakes. Maybe they were sloppy because they knew they could be, and they will manage a maturing roster well. We will soon see.

    It's already started.

    Seahawks cut Tony McDaniel, a DT who started 29 of 32 regular season games (appearing in all 32). Don't know who he is, but I suspect he's one of the fat guys in the middle who kept the guards off Wagner so he could run around. He was due $2.5M in base, and would've counted about $3.6M against the cap. Have to think this is a pure cap move.

    Two other guys looking for more money, too. Bennett won't get a cent, but Chancellor's behavior is interesting. 3 years left on him contract, so seemingly no leverage, but Thomas is out, and he might be worth it.
