Why the CBA is arranged as it is

Not a bad reminder that change to the CBA is very hard, and that the relationship between Gene Upshaw and Paul Tagliabue was an aberration. However, Ross should recognize that by accepting that everything is a trade off going forward is a self defeating strategy. It refuses to recognize that players can put themselves in a position of leverage.

For instance, when the commish asks for a personal conduct policy, you ask for him NOT to be the arbitrator in exchange.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Agree PB. The the NFL says, ok, then we'll do that but you need to do this....etc etc.......bottom line is the NFLPA needs to make it a priority and as you allude to, not roll over on some big issue to get it.
