Packers local media is not the harshest environment, but you take this too far. I think anyone who knew anything about addiction and rehab thought that going in for painkillers and then still drinking was doomed to fail and I think that was reflected in local coverage. In fact, I believe alcohol was brought up in the Holmgren/Favre PC. Unless it was published somewhere else, no one is punishing stories about where Favre was drinking Friday night.

And the fact that he was still drinking afterward was covered as well.

More telling are the public fibs Holmgren was willing to tell. I wonder if he was more honest with the player than with the media.
