    Website Problem

I can't get the Packerrats website to properly open on my laptop. All I get is a page of links. I don't have the problem on my PC, and I only have the problem on the laptop with the Packerrats website. Any ideas?

Last time I had a similar issue with a forum site, it was browser caching issue.

Try a different browser. If still an issue, then it might be a DNS issue with the WiFi connection.

So I got the site to load using Edge. Guess it's a Chrome problem. Thanks.

I can confirm it is a Chrome problem. Edge and Firefox display properly.

Occasionally it will do that to me on Samsung mobile browser.

I swap back and forth from desktop to mobile mode and it corrects the issue.

On our work's internal webpage, we've had some issues using http:// versus https:// , so you might want to try switching between the two.

Also try going to Settings on your desktop browser and search for "cache". I'd recommend deleting your cache for the last, I dunno, two weeks. You can leave your history and cookies alone (unless you're SkinBasket). Or you can try a force-refresh on the page by holding down ctrl and pressing F5.

I read this page almost exclusively on Firefox for Android OS, and I haven't had problems in many months.

This site stopped working for me on Chrome several months ago. I switched to Edge. I was just updated to the latest version of Edge and now Edge won't work. I've tried clearing cache and that didn't work. Downloaded Firefox so I could get on here to discuss it. So what does it mean that as soon as I received the latest version of Edge that it stopped working with this site? Does the software running this site need to be updated? I know next to nothing about tech. Just looking for some answers. Having to find a new browser every few months doesn't seem like much of an answer.

I thought it was perhaps a local problem for me but I guess I'm not alone.

Edge, Chrome, Brave all fail on PC as previously described (looks like all the images, colors and formatting get stripped, leaving only links and headers) and have been failing for me basically all season.

Mozilla Firefox is the only browser that renders correctly consistently, but sometimes if you hit the back button on the browser it will fail too. Then either a refresh or return to the home page remedies the situation.

Perhaps that information is helpful to somebody.

Edge update hosed my view of the forum as well.

Edge and Chrome are forcing the browser to use secure https. Problem is the forum is calling a stylesheet via an http calla and it is blocked.

Turn off USE SECURE DNS in your edge browser and logout and clear cookies and it should work again.

However, ideally the site should have an ssl certificate issue to it. LetsEncrypt is a free provider that you can setup relatively easy on the server side. No cost to it, just some time. Turning off forcing HTTPS is not a good thing to do long term.

    In EDGE:
    Click three dot menu
select Privacy, search and services on the left
scroll down to Use secure DNS to specify how to lookup the network address for websites

    TURN IT OFF

logout of site, clear cache and cookies, refresh browser and it should work again.

And you mofos wait until now to complain? I believe I know what it is and will look into this weekend. Likely due to the site not being https link. Don’t make any changes in your browsers so we can confirm it’s fixed.

Let’s stick to this thread for info on changes that will take place. Likely will just need to delete cache and shortcuts but we will see.

My Chrome is showing the error, Edge is not. I will leave them until you make the changes and I can verify yay or nay on changes.

Is it working for all you chabalas now? The URL should now show https instead of http.

It should redirect but if not delete any shortcut or favorite you had and create a new one from the page.
