doesn't line corners 8 yards off the LOS on 3rd and 6. Not afraid to be aggressive and pressure to force a punt.

ultimately, a DC who can teach, implement, gameplan and call a defense that lands inside the top 12 or better (ideally top 8) in defensive metrics. Top 12 with this offense gets them pretty far into the playoffs, top 5 could get them to a SB win.

Who that is, I have no idea...but that's what I want.
    This, literally all of this.
Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

Reasonable. We have no way of knowing who would be good or bad at it. We can check resumes, but there is no knowing. Being able to hear the interviews would give us a lot more information.

If I were a DC interviewing - I’d say I’ll never, ever run a prevent D or a bend but don’t break approach

You've got my top two choices paired against each other in the first round. I bet Bretsky says the same thing.

I count about 14 of those guys that I never heard of or at least don't know anything about.

I wouldn't go that far. There are times prevent makes sense, like a 3 score lead with 5 minutes left. Problem is at the end, Barry played prevent with a 4 point lead.

I didn't make the bracket. I agree, there are a lot of guys who don't sound familiar. Here, my guy Chris Hewitt would probably lose to Al Harris in the 4th round.

LIFE IS ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS; I JUST REALIZED THIS. The MILWAUKEE BUCKS have won the same number of championships over the past 50 years as the Green Bay Packers. Ten years from now, who will have more championships, and who will be the fart in the wind ?

So sell me on Martindale. I see several people want him, no doubt based on when he was with the Ravens, but after 2 years with the Giants, his defense there was near the bottom in both yards and points allowed. Why do we want this guy?

Brandon Staley being interviewed. Weird resume.

Small college defensive backs, linebackers and coordinator
Outside linebackers for Fangio for 3 years with no promotions
    DC for Rams
    HC of Chargers

Yeah, I don't know what to make of Staley. His 3 years with Fangio were with 2 different teams. 2017-18 with the Bears, 2019 with the Broncos. His 1 year as DC had the #1 defense. His defenses as HC weren't very good. Has never coached with LaFleur, although there is some crossover. Both coached with Barry and Evero. Not high on my list.

Packers have faced Staley defenses twice. In the 2020 divisional round, Packers beat Rams 32-18. Aaron Rodgers passed for 296 yards and 2 TD's. Packers rushed for about 190 yards. In 2023 Packers beat the Chargers 23-20. Jordan Love threw for 322 yards and 2 TD's. Other than Jayden Reed, Packers did not have success running the ball.

Green Bays defense would be awesome with an in your prime Aaron Donald. If they hire Staley it will be more of the same shit with a slight change in smell.

In his defense, the year after he left the Rams, they went from #1 defense to #15 defense. Donald was still in his prime. I'm not for Staley, but there was more to it than just Donald.

This is about the dumbest thing he could do.

Former Chargers’ HC Brandon Staley is meeting today with the Packers about their defensive coordinator job, is scheduled to meet with the Dolphins about their DC vacancy this weekend, and has drawn interest from the Rams about being a potential Raheem Morris replacement, per sources.
