Some of what I read suggests 3rd down back which makes sense with Jacobs around. I really did like his pass catching tape. Better than Kamara.

More than a 3rd down back. In 2021 Dillon had 770 yards rushing to Jones' 1121. I think his role could be more like that.

He'll get carries no doubt, but I would think a 3-1 split would be likely. High 200's for Jacobs, 100 max for Lloyd. But if he catches 40 passes I'm pretty happy.

Watched several highlight files on him. One thing that stood out to me was how easily and naturally he caught the ball. Looks very relaxed as a receiver. Some guys look stiff, unnatural adjusting to and catching passes out of the backfield. He looks very fluid.
As with all rookies, it will be fun seeing how he develops as a pro. Will he live upto expectations, exceed them or fail to meet them.
I noticed the same. A lot of those highlights were of him 15 or 20 yards down field, not just check downs. They looked like Aaron Jones type routes. Very encouraging.
But he looked more fluid making the catch than Jones usually did. Like I said, I wasn't crazy about the pick, but I am excited to see him own some LBs trying to cover him beyond 5 yards.

I wanted Braelin Allen, but the more I read about Lloyd, the more I like getting him. Lloyd and Jacobs in rotation - about 50/50, that's the way to go, and using both of them as change of pace in a pass first offense. The Packers have so many weapons that they will be really tough to stop.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?
It would be great if they could get to 50/50 by the end of the year. Andy Herman said he has a long way to go on pass protection - though I expect that's true of most rookie RB's. I'm not sure he'll be able to get onto the field at all early in the season.
Imo, if he is special at running and receiving but sucks at pass pro we can't use him.

Obviously his pass blocking is not an all or nothing thing, and of the three skills, the blocking should be the easiest to teach. Hopefully he runs like O.J. and uses good fitting gloves - for pass catching I mean.

The Packers know how to coach guys up, and Dillon is perfectly adequate as the primary backup if Lloyd isn't ready right away.
Reports that he wasn't asked to pass block much, so it's more of an unknown than he tried and sucked at it. Hard to say how he'll do. It's always possible they didn't ask him to pass block because he wasn't any good at it.
That seems to be a little counter intuitive. Anybody playing with Caleb Williams was going to be asked to pass block. A lot. USC had a prolific passing attack. It's one of the reasons Lloyd didn't have that many carries.

On passing downs, Lloyd is kind of a mystery box. He showed unbelievable explosive potential on screens and flashed solid pass-catching traits otherwise, but he was rarely thrown the ball at USC. He feels like someone with untapped potential in the passing game. Lloyd was also rarely used in pass protection, so he will have a lot to learn there.
Ball security and pass protection -- if he can improve those he'll be fine.
I think he's got great burst, very good size, and has some wiggle. I also think his hands aren't bad and he just wasn't used in the passing game. If MLF can find ways to get him the ball in open space, he could be dangerous. He's the closest thing to an Aaron Jones-type they have on the roster.
