We've had a couple of threads debating the virtues of various mp3 players out there, so why not another one?
I'm wondering about quality of playback. I was always under the impression that most players will have similar playback abilities, and mentioned this on one of the earlier threads, but someone responded and said the iPod had better sound quality.
I would tend to think that sound quality is a lot more dependant on the quality of the mp3 file you have. The player reproduces the audio stream based on the information available to it. Can anyone add to this? Do some players do a better job of reproducing the sound? I've never seen anything written about this.
As a side note, I'll say that most mp3 players come with awful headphones. IMO spending money on some nice upgraded headphones is a good investment.
