5th round picks starting to feel less exciting. Yikes. We got through the 4th round with guys who all looked like they have a good shot and now the party is over. Looks like garbage from here on out.

Maybe I’m mistaking him for somebody else, but I don’t think so. I don’t know how anybody could be too down in LVN. He was such an obvious pick for us. We got two of the top 5 TEs in a strong TE draft—when TE is our biggest need. Both good value. I thought Reed was taken a bit early, but the Packers should get the benefit of the doubt on round 2 WRs for now. I would have rather had Benton instead of Reed and just about any S instead of Clifford, but shit like this happens every draft.

When you have 8 picks in the last 3 rounds, you’d like to think you’ll get one though.

Still some interesting guys at safety (Taylor), IOL, RB. Landers and Ford-Wheaton at WR.

Kind of agree with you, but in fairness to Friday he wasn't against LVN, he doesn't have faith in the DC, which is absolutely reasonable.

Yeah, I love Van Ness as an athlete. I just wish Gute would give MLF more impact talent on offense once in awhile. I was high on JSN for our scheme. I think he would’ve been huge with Watson. I like Reed, but we are still very unproven at WR, and the new TEs will take at least a year to get up to speed.
It's such a GOOD feeling...13 TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

    Since 2012

    Hyde
    Bakh
    Lindsley
    Aaron Jones
    MVS
    Runyan
    Enagbare

I like Rasheed Walkers chances. Ford and Slaton might be rotational guys.

But we don’t even get one guy in the last 3 rounds per year. It’s not good.

Wicks sounds like special teams fodder.
Fire Murphy, Gute, MLF, Barry, Senavich, etc!

Oh, and Bakh was a 4tg rounder. We literally hit about one guy every other year in rounds 5-7. Horrible odds.

I hate hate hate the Sean Clifford pick. I know he had a visit with GB but thought it was as a UDFA recruiting thing, not a R5 pick.
Oh, BTW he's actually OLDER than JLove, so maybe he's the veteran backup QB.

I guess if it saves them money spent on a useless horrible backup QB in the FA it's maybe worth it, but I thought there were better options available.

I’ve never been less inspired than when I read that scouting report. My gf was giving me head while I was reading through that report. The wind was sucked right out of my sails and I started crying. It really wrecked my day.

The Colby Wooden pick is a weird one also. Not sure how he fits. Is he a big EDGE? A DLineman? I'm not sure.

    Welp, per the Packers:
On where Wooden will play: "We're gonna play him at defensive tackle. He's a defensive tackle, big end type. Big, powerful ... he can definitely play (tackle). He's got the frame to carry what he needs to play D-tackle."
They certainly need bodies there, and dude is super athletic. Undersized, but if he can get to 290+ and not lose much athleticism he has some upside. I guess he's the Dean Lowry replacement? At least he's got long arms and can run.

The Dontayion Wicks pick isn't bad. He's athletic and his 2021 tape is good. 2022 UVA had a new coach and an abysmal offense.
Wicks has some drops concerns but that can often (not always) be fixed. He has some upside and R5 WR is a lotto ticket.

    Hero post of the day

Yeah, a lot to unpack in that one.

I thank God every day we don't have Stoneburner on the team.

Seems like they are leaning towards quick, penetrating disrupter types instead of big ole space eaters.

6th rounder Brooks looks more like a DT on paper, 6-3, 300 lbs. Probably a dev guy since he played in the MAC. Rushed off the edge some. Still looking for the new Keith McKenzie?

Your girlfriend was giving you head and you were reading a report?

Hmm, head seems to have changed since I was a young man..

Karl Brooks is an interesting pick. Standup rusher at 300 pounds, I'd assume he's playing DT for them. Like I said with Wooden, they needed bodies at DL, but it's a curious pick. I haven't looked at him at all, I'll have to go back and watch him.
He's apparently very good at pass rushing so they are adding that to the DL. Not much emphasis on stopping the run, but I guess they already have the bit NT types with guys like Slaton and Johnathon Ford.
