    Jim Brown

Just heard that Jim Brown passed away at age 87.
    Been around a long time.
Jim Brown & Dick Butkus were the 2 best players I've ever seen.

The GOAT among RBs (FBs in his day).

    Stud baller. Sure.

Stud person? Brown’s work within the Black community was honorable. On the other hand, while no one is perfect, Brown had a history of domestic violence against women. Pretty sure we all can agree that domestic violence does not make one a stud person.

One of the best ever. Telling Modell to fuck off when he was the best player in the league was epic. His treatment of women, not so great.

I personally liked him, didn't know too much about the off the field stuff, just that he was a larger than life guy that was the best at what he did.

Watched it last night. I think it was that film he was working on ran long due to weather and Modell threatened him if he didn't make camp.

Art was a fucking genius wasn't he?

Art Modell would be the one guy who could figure out a way to lose a footrace to an elderly one-legged midget.

Jim Brown I don't recall seeing as a kid, but I did read about him as a kid, and have seen some highlights. From what I read, yes, the best running back ever. Don't even know what other running back you'd compare him to. He could run people over like Earl Campbell or he could glide by them like Gale Sayers.

As a human being, he seems on par with, say, Ahman Green. A complicated fella.

Like Harv said he is the GOAT among RBs. At a time when you could pretty much murder someone on the field he absolutely dominated. Off the field? Well he did throw his girlfriend off a balcony once.
