It’s the Battle of the Bays!
Today’s contest of (6-7) and heavily injured teams normally wouldn’t mean too much in the NFL.
But TB is sitting atop the parity pile in the NFC South.
And GB is sitting along side 4 other (6-7) teams for the chance to take the last wildcards.
In reality - the playoffs start today folks!
Key questions:
- Will Aaron Jones come back and get limited action - testing the MCL on a non frozen tundra?
- Will the porous Packers rushing defense again leave Love and co playing from behind on a short clock? TB’s RB, White, has had a productive month and could be the key today.
- Which injured team can foster a stronger squad? With folks like Quay, Savage, Stokes and Jaire (bruised vag) all questionable on one Defense and Vita Vea, Davis and others hurt for TB’s D.
But most importantly for a young Packers team - are they driving while looking through the rear view mirror? Love has brought the team back many times in the 4th Q only to leave w/ a couple comebacks. What kinda game would we be talking about had we beaten the Giants (or the other 4 close losses)?
Point of emphasis:
- Ole Joey ‘bag of shit’ Barry better figure a way to generate any pressure and keep White in check.
- Love and his injured offense has to start fast and be in a race to 28+ points.
- And for fucks sake - can we just not end up talking about Special Teams blunders or referee’s outsized impacts on games?
It’s impossible to predict how a young, injured team will play. Will we come out dominating on offense and beating Todd Rundgren’s drum all day or start preparing for the draft? Because a loss today may be the nail in the 2023 coffin.
Green Bay 28
Tampa Bay 23
Love holds onto this week’s 4th q comeback and the defense does just enough to keep us in the playoff discussion.
Go pack!
