Geez I always thought he sounds better drunk
LIFE IS ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS; I JUST REALIZED THIS. The MILWAUKEE BUCKS have won the same number of championships over the past 50 years as the Green Bay Packers. Ten years from now, who will have more championships, and who will be the fart in the wind ?

Still a sore spot with me. If we had just moved him to safety and benched savage (what an inapropes name for such a sally tackler) we might have an owl under our belt.

Sadly true. If Savage doesn't play against the 49ers, we probably win.

As far as I could tell, when I watched the game, he didn’t play.

Savage missed a tackle on McCaffery's 39-yard TD run, was the closest defender on TD pass to Kittle, AND dropped a certain pick-6.

Enough with the spilled milk. They didn’t get to the playoffs with Douglas so fuk him.

Are you kidding me? I still lie awake at night thinking about 4th-and-26.

Was never going to happen in GB. The coaches insisted time and again that he would NOT be moved to safety. Too much of a freelancer, I suspect.

If Douglas had still been there, it would have changed how much the CBs played, but not Savage.

Did the Bills move Douglas to safety or something? What sparked all this discussion?

No. As far as I know Rasul has never played safety. He played better for the Bills than he had been playing for the Packers. My theory is, like some other veterans, he had become really disgruntled playing in Joe Barry's defense. Getting traded to the Bills gave him a new lease on life (or at least on playing football).

    Joe Barely!

I don't think anyone's missing him. Even if the Iggles put up forty on Half-assley's new defense, we can all say, "Well, Joe coulda done that, too!"

I think most analysts thought AJJ was supposed to drop back and help Savage on that coverage. IIRC Savage was trailing Kittle in coverage and it was a good throw. AJJ playing deep instead of heading towards the flat probably forces Purdy to look elsewhere than the TD shot.

That said, Savage was a bad fit for Barry's D. Some (including JAX) think he can play in the slot, although his metrics in the slot don't support that. You'd think he'd be better closer to the LOS and on a Robber role, but his tackling isn't great. Incredible athlete who just couldn't put it all together. Maybe he can for JAX, but I suspect he is what he is at this point.

Agree. You can't really have a lot of freelancing at S. Ultimately I'm not sure trading Rasul made much difference in how the season ended. He's done well in BUF, but his speed was always iffy and you wonder how long before that goes on him, and he's just a slow gambling CB.

A slow gambling CB? Sounds like a retarded trucker, good buddy.
