For in case the Broncos are actually interested in Javon

*Tags walks up to podium in April 29*

I have a trade to announce. The Green Bay Packers have obtained the 22nd pick in the draft from the Denver Broncos in exchange for Javon Walker and The Packers' 3rd round selection.

With the 22nd pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers select...

    Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio State

    (If only it were true)

Why do we have to give up a third round pick?

Well, I dunno what the Broncos' front office is thinking, but IMHO Walker alone is worth a 2nd at best..If this was LAST offseason, he would be worth more than a first, but coming off his injury, who knows..

I expect it's because Javon Walker is damaged goods. The third round pick is to sweeten the pot.
Santonio and Chad Jackson are supposed to be the best two receivers in the draft. I expect Holmes will be of more use returning kicks than as a number one receiver, at least for the first half of the season.
On the other hand, Terry Glenn, as a rookie from Ohio State, and Torry Holt, as a rookie from NC State, both contributed alot right away.
I don't mind this trade. Which probably won't happen.

Yea that would be the 22nd pick and realistically if we went on "O" with it.

Then it could be RB Lendale White, who suddenly has taken a lack luster approach to his drafting future although he migh show it all sometime in the near future.

It's nice to dream and not much seems to come easy for us these days.

If the get a 1st round pick for Walker this year, it would be retarded to use on a receiver this year. It is a freakishly weak class. I'd use it to trade down and add more picks and try and land the best defensive player.

This would be a good deal for the Packers. I don't think they'll get it this much before Walker recovers from injury, but maybe.
