Thread: Wonder Woman

    Wonder Woman

I went to see the Wonder Woman movie today, and it wasn't at all what I expected. It was pretty down to earth and good IMO.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

    Really?

I'm totally sick of all the comic book movies, and I rolled my eyes when I heard this was coming out

But the reviews are off the carts good, so now I'm pretty intrigued

Having Gal Gadot in skin tight clothes doesn't hurt.

BTW, does every action movie these days have to have at least one (and usually 5-10) hyperkinetic CGI scene where you cannot suspend disbelief because it's so preposterously impossible. It's like every computer graphic nerd has to top the last guy going back to The Matrix.

    Yes.

And it's so gawd awfully boring.

There needs to be more scenes like the hall fight in Old Boy.

Finally saw Wonder Woman. Pleasantly surprised after the shit storm that was Batman V Superman.

DC really needs to stop making all of their movies so gloomy though. We get it. You like the grey and black palate.

Couldn't hurt. Maybe take a page out of Marvels playbook and have some actual acting.

Why do "you people" always have to have comic relief? Can't a movie be different or does it all have to be made from the same cookie cutter? I like the dark tone. Seems like that's how DC comics really are. You want Marvelish Supes or Batman....

If the movies didn't suck (apart from WW and the 3 good Batman movies) then yeah give me dark tone. Bateman V super man flat out sucked. The 2 stand alone Superman movies sucked. Now the next Batman director is saying he's going with a dark noir tone. Try something new. This isn't working.

umm Batman is/Has been dark for most of his existence. It was only the 60s TV Series and a couple of decades of comics where he wasn't. Happy batman does not translate well. He is dark due to all the loss he has encountered in life. He is not a symbol of hope, he is a symbol of vengeance. In fact if we look at the big DC players as the Greek Gods, Batman is Hades (vs Flash as Hermes, Supes as Zeus, Aquaman as Poseiden, Wonderwoman as Hera, Green Lantern as Hephaestus)

I love the absolutes of the internet. The only options are Willy Wonka or Sin City. There is no inbetween.

I saw the movie and thought it was great. Hopefully DC can have the rest of their movies up to this level.
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!
