Ricky Jean Francois is on the streets.

Why do cut players hang out on the street?

Wow. 6 months ago Ricky Jean Francois signed a $3M, 1 year contract with Packers. Now look at him.

(nah, wikipedia is wrong, it wasn't $3M. It was $1.6M. And I suppose he only got to keep the $250K signing bonus. He did get a $3M signing bonus in 2015 http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/green-bay...cash-earnings/)

Watching Alex Green right now running for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats against the BC Lions. 4 carries, 35 yards, average 8.8.

    Alex Green?

Am I the only one drawing a blank?

I think this is the same guy that was the Green Bay third round pick in 2011. Good with some space to run. Might do OK in the CFL.

I hear he is a decent second down back there

He was DeJuan Harris a year or two before actual DeJuan Harris. Got hurt and put on IR I think.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Green played in a spread offense at Hawaii. TT made the gamble, based partly on Green's performance at The Senior Bowl, that he could make the adjustment to a pro-style offense. Nope.

I remember now, the Hawaii guy. Unimpressive, but maybe didn't get time.

Or maybe he is a fifth down back in a four down game. Sad.

So did he (Green) sit out of football for over 3 years and then just up and decide the CFL sounds good? Odd, does the CFL pay anything close to the NFL?

  17. #437
Average salary is probably half to third of avg NFL, and little dollars too

Not sure what he has been doing in the meantime but that was his first game since being cut by the Packers in 2013. Doesn't look like he was in a training camp, or Canada, or anywhere since.

EDIT: Looks like he was with the Jets in 2013 and camp in 2014 but hasn't been in a game since 2013.

Josh Sitton was knocked out of last week's game with a rib injury in the third quarter, has not practiced all week and is inactive today.

You can take the player out of Green Bay but you can never take Green Bay out of the player!
