Packers Versus Browns Remainder of Season

Vote Up. Who wins more games?

Are the Packers really the Browns without Rodgers?

You antidisestablishmentarianmccarthyists have nothing to lose is backing your point about the coach, since you can always claim its just luck that separates the results.

The People's Liberation from Ted die hards can similarly avoid blame, looking at the remaining schedule.

But who has the onions to put it to pixel in a public poll?

Everyone gets a small helper, because the Browns are already winning their Week 8 FG fest with the unreliable Vikings. Bye weeks will even out, as the Brownies are on Bye in Week 9.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Winning more than the Browns is setting the bar pretty low hahahahaha.

While I agree with the article in the other thread that our personnel other than QB is about as mediocre as the Browns, our D is mostly decent because of Capers' scheming (last week wasn't a very good example of that), and Hundley IMO is better than anybody the Browns have at QB - better than at least a third of the starting QBs around the league.

As a wise poster said in the other thread, McCarthy needs to unleash Hundley like he did that one early series last week and failed to do otherwise.

Go Browns this morning - it sure would be nice to see the Vikings get beat.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

That Packers-Browns game now looms large with respect to Forum harmony.

I voted Browns because this team is sooo banged up, I don't think it will matter if Hundley starts showing he's NFL QB talent or not. I've been spoiled by Arod's ability to cover up the offenses flaws and the defense is still shitting the bed trying to stop teams, especially on 3rd and long. Hell, even Crosby is missing extra points this year. I hope I'm wrong and Hundley can turn it around but this is a bye week and I have to wait 7 more days to see if MM can really coach or was it all Mr Rodgers.

The Packers should win more games than the Browns; their 2nd string QB is better than anything on the Browns roster.
LIFE IS ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS; I JUST REALIZED THIS. The MILWAUKEE BUCKS have won the same number of championships over the past 50 years as the Green Bay Packers. Ten years from now, who will have more championships, and who will be the fart in the wind ?

Based on what? Kizer had a better game today than either of hundley's. And he was pedestrian at best.

i'll say green bay, because they should only have to win 1 game to have more wins then the browns

so i THINK, we can do that. i think we might even be able to win 2 games the rest of the season

Statiscally yes. More yards, less turnovers, etc. And he's a rookie coming into a dumpster fire situation. Not a 3rd year guy coming into an established system and core of experience.
I'm not going to pretend, like a lot of you, that Hundley is better than what he has shown. I'm taking it at face value.

So have you seen Kizer play? How many quarters? Did you see when he got yanked twice from games? Seems like Cleveland went all small ball today because they lost their LT. But some think they have (had) a decent line.

I need some more data on Hundley.

I realize none of this will change your mind.

This is an opinion question. Give Hundley more games and IMO he'll show better than Kizer....who is not ready

Yes I've seen Kizer play. He's in over his head, innacurate, and makes poor decisions. Sounds a lot like Hundley. And again a rookie vs a 3rd year player. Why would anything but Hundley playing better than Kizer make me think he was actually better than Kizer?
I'm not going to assume what I've seen from Hundley is an aberration until he shows me he's competent.

Unless this team can figure out how to be productive without him he ain't playing again this season.

That's a weird way to put it. But you claimed Kizer is better. I see nothing to support that. I don't think either has shown their full potential, and may not anytime soon.

But consider this: Kizer was drafted to be a starter. Hundley was drafted to be a backup. That's the reality of it. Guys like Hundley aren't expected to be multiyear starters and pro bowl candidates - their expected ceiling is to manage a team while a starter is out, hopefully get more wins than losses. There's a reason Hundley was drafted in the fifth (and Kizer in the third) - they have enough warts that people don't expect them to be starters (Hundley) or start right away (Kizer). But there's no substitute for playing, and both these guys don't have the bank of experiences yet. A few guys can step in right away and be effective, most require some time. That's why guys like Moore, Hoyer, McCown stick around the league - because they can step in and run an offense while the big dog is away or hasn't been drafted yet. But no one ever thinks those guys will be the face of the team for years. Same with Hundley. If he did turn out to be pro bowl caliber starting QB material, and the successor to Rodgers it would be the biggest fuckdoggle since Tom Brady. Now they just need him to do enough right to to get more wins than losses. It looks like it may be a tall order.

And if he can show he can be more than a game manager to step in for the starter he isn't going to want to stick around at 1265 and be Rodgers' understudy until 2020. He's going to want to start somewhere and will go elsewhere. Rodgers' eventual replacement is probably still in high school.

If all we were after was a backup QB, why spend a 5th round pick on Hundley? We could have drafted Jay Ajayi instead who went two picks after Hundley. Strictly backup QB's seem to be a dime a dozen. I don't think Hundley is clearly better than Callahan or that other kid QB they had in camp this summer.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.
