Official Packers vs Lions Game Day Thread

This is the season. If Brett cant put a good showing against the Lions with an extra week of prep, AR will be shut down and we can look towards a draft, new DC and two aging vet signings.

Leaving for the game in about 4 hours. Looking forward to seeing another Packer win.

In a surprising, turnover crazy game:
    Packers 26 (3 Tds, 1 missed XP, 2 FGs)
    Lions 18 (3 FGs, 1 TD, 1 Safety)
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

That us an amazingly specific prediction.

Enjoy the game! Debating if I should go to a bar to watch the game, since I cut the cable cord years ago.

    I second this.

In Detroit, the sportsheads are talking about this as a "referendum" game - a referendum on the Stafford contract extension, a referendum on the OC, Jim Bob Cooter, and a referendum on Jim Caldwell and the contract extension he received earlier in the year.

The Packer defense is spoken of in dismissive terms, and maybe appropriately so.

Lions' back end on defense is playing great, particularly Slay and Quinn.

Approx. 75% of NFL Fans are picking the Lions to win this game @ Packers and MNF.

The Pro's have it closer at 68% going with the Detroit Lions to win.

This one could very easily be an Upset for the Green Bay Packers.

This is one of those 'Gut Check' games.

Hundley exceeds expectations throwing for more than 100 yards.
The defense experiences more communication issues.

    Lions 31 Pack 17.

Two week ago was not what I had hoped for out of a guy who's been in the league for 3 years and had a full week to prepare.

He gets a pass for coming in after the injury, but now is him time to show he belongs. I'm looking forward to see how he reacts.

    There's another game tonight?

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

This, unfortunately, feels an awful like one of those replacement players' games when the union went on strike years ago. I hope I'm wrong about Hundley, but I am not brimming with confidence.

Pass rush ahoy, Montravious Adams is active I believe. No Bennett. Defense minus Brooks and Thomas but DBs at full strength.

    Lane Taylor playing too.

    Green Bay Packers
    44 CB Donatello Brown
    48 LB Joe Thomas
    55 LB Ahmad Brooks
    74 T Ulrick John
    77 G/T Adam Pankey
    80 TE Martellus Bennett
    91 DT Quinton Dial

Asked Aaron Jones about nobody giving GB a shot without 12: “They’re lying to themselves. Turn on the TV and they’ll see on Monday night.”

The biggest benefit of Rodgers being out is a real honest evaluation of the rest of the roster.

I think Burnett's return sparks the D and we see a rebound. Kenny Clark and Mike Daniels set the tone. The Hound Dog gets 2 sacks.

But the offense continues to struggle.

16-13 GB in overtime and my wife yells at me for staying up too late on a school night.

Joe Thomas has now been out for going on 6 weeks.

If A Rodgers was playing, Kendricks would pass Bennett on the depth chart tonight

Doesn't feel like pack gets much love. Of all the days (besides the browns) - Brett has to show he can win. Team is healthiest (outside of QB) since week 1. Off a bye. At home. Vs a team we've dominated for last quarter century at home. I expect a W - don't care how it gets done.

If that was for sure to happen. I would be cheering hard for the Lions. But I doubt very much the status quo lovers in GB will get rid of Capers.
