    Giants Clean House

McAdoo and Jerry Reese are gone.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

So McAdoo benched Eli just to screw him over?

I keep trying to figure out what happened, but it's probably just best to put it down as a raging case of idiocy accompanied by a mild form of couldn't care less.

Unless Eli gets another contract. Then we'll know the mastermind.

    Wow, was McAdoo doo doo...

Did he always grease his hair like that?? Was he trying to look "New York Sleaze"?? Came across as a complete piece of shit.

According to some reports McAdoo offered to have Eli start, but have Geno take over in the second half. Eli said, in effect, if you want to play Geno, start him.
Fire Murphy, Gute, MLF, Barry, Senavich, etc!

It's still bizarre. McAdoo had to know he was on the outs, but he told a story of wanting to 'evaluate' the other QBs going forward. For next season.

I have to believe that it was a move that says to his next employer "I did a good job in New York, but really, the QB was on the skids, etc. etc." Excuse making. That's just a guess.

Even if you believe in Geno, you don't think you are going to win with him after the half.

That HAD to be Jerry Reese.

Coordinators (offensive and defensive) most often don't translate to successful Head Coaches. Belichek is the exception that proves the rule.

If it can happen to John Harbaugh: the Giants should sign Ron Zook.

Packers can sign Dave Toub when they bring back John Dorsey.

I don't why McAdoo wasn't successful, he learned from the master.

    A Logical move.

It was just stupid to bench your best QB for what they substituted with; when 'the writing was on the Wall'... lose and the HC Ben McAdoo was in imminent danger of getting canned with a loss.

Eli's streak ended for what...just this ... stupidity.

A way out there beyond 'just' stupid.... A horrific 'Poison Pill' move by a former Green Bay Packer Coach...Ben McAdoo.

How many Coaches on Mike McCarthy's Coaching Staff are a lot like Ben McAdoo?

Eli Manning to replace Geno Smith as Giants' starter

By Kevin Patra....Around the NFL writer

    Published: Dec. 5, 2017 at 02:47 p.m. Updated: Dec. 5, 2017 at 03:08 p.m.

    Comment woodbuck27:

This will go down as one of the stupidest moves by any NFL Head Coach and GM.

To take Eli out and steal that Streak away from an Icon with two Super Bowl wins...idiotic.

That move just sucks and the whole NFL and NFL Fans will not forget this ugly move by the guys who deserved the 'hatchet job' for unreal stupidity. Former NY Giants HC Ben McAdoo and his GM Jerry Reese...GONE ..... FIRED !

    Horray !

He gave Eli the option to start and play the first half and Eli said no. Got anything else?

    NEW YORK GIANTS

Benching of Eli Manning Ends an Era for the Giants in the Ugliest Way Possible

    MIKE TANIER ... NOVEMBER 28, 2017

" ...Manning was unceremoniously benched Tuesday afternoon after 14 seasons and 210 consecutive starts. The two-time Super Bowl MVP will be replaced by former tabloid back-page chew toy Geno Smith, a quarterback so inept that he deserved about half of the criticism he received during his Jets tenure.

The Giants have a more likely quarterback of the future on the roster in rookie Davis Webb, but Ben McAdoo, a lame duck whose New Year's Day plans involve updating his LinkedIn page, is now the coaching equivalent of a movie character climbing into the cockpit of a crashing spaceship and randomly mashing buttons. ..."

The Mara's just didn't want this decision on them. You don't think that the McAdoo and Reese let the Maras know that they were going to bench Eli? This fiasco is on the Maras as well.
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!
