Bears fire GM Phil Emery, coach Marc Trestman

Emery did not take questions from reporters.

Trestman, in a statement issued through the team, thanked the team-owning McCaskey family for the opportunity to coach the Bears.

''I also want to thank all the coaches and players who gave us everything we asked over the past two years,'' he said. ''I have tremendous respect for this organization.''












I feel somewhat badly for Marc Trestman but moreso I'm thinking he gets a big break leaving Chicago.

Marc Trestman if he's nothing else is a fine gentleman, intelligent and a very hard working dedicated man.

I'm wondering if he might consider returning to the CFL and leading the Montreal Alouettes again?

The City of Montreal would certainly welcome that. Marc Trestman is respected in Montreal and in the CFL as a whole.

Marc Trestman worked his tail off while he was in the CFL and got wonderful results. I'm sure his excellent work ethic continued in Chicago as the Bears HC. It simply wasn't meant to be. At the very least the blame has to be shared. As it's turning out that was the case.
