Coaching is more about identifying when and where to use the players you have than in drawing Xs and Os on the blackboard.

Bostick appears to be a guy who had a history of not doing what he should know to do. Slocum was the one responsible to recognize this and say "No mas" but unfortunately, Slocum suffered from some of the same deficiencies as Bostick. It was a perfect storm of utter incompetence.
I said something similar when stories about what happened first started to come out. It's like the TJ Rubley story - coaches knew he had a penchant to go rogues, but put him in anyways. From the sound of things, almost the identical situation with Bostick.

Something that hasn't been discussed - dude's a TE, ball was floating through the air. How did he muff that catch??? It should've been child's play to come down with that ball.

Perhaps because he can't catch is why he couldn't beat out Q or a rookie TE last year after being on the team so long? Bostick won't have to worry about his Mensa dues anytime soon.
