So McAdoo benched Eli just to screw him over?

I keep trying to figure out what happened, but it's probably just best to put it down as a raging case of idiocy accompanied by a mild form of couldn't care less.

Unless Eli gets another contract. Then we'll know the mastermind.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

According to some reports McAdoo offered to have Eli start, but have Geno take over in the second half. Eli said, in effect, if you want to play Geno, start him.
Fire Murphy, Gute, MLF, Barry, Senavich, etc!

It's still bizarre. McAdoo had to know he was on the outs, but he told a story of wanting to 'evaluate' the other QBs going forward. For next season.

I have to believe that it was a move that says to his next employer "I did a good job in New York, but really, the QB was on the skids, etc. etc." Excuse making. That's just a guess.

Coordinators (offensive and defensive) most often don't translate to successful Head Coaches. Belichek is the exception that proves the rule.
