There was an odd undercurrent to the article, like Hasselback's proclamation damaged him and took years to heal.

The closest quote he has to that effect is Favre not being sure what to think about the quote at the time, except that he knew Hasselback wasn't trying to put anyone down.

The author may know Hasselback better than we do, but the meat of the article seems to be his battle with Holmgren, not with the "We're gonna score!" quote.

It was nice to get a sense though, of the affection Favre still seems to have for him. And the regard Holmgren still has for Favre.

The article pointed out that Hasselbeck learned not to try some of the throws Favre tries (because he doesn't have the arm strength), but never brings up the point that he learned a lot about how to be a QB from Favre--like toughness, leadership, moxie, movement in the pocket, etc. Hasselbeck has brought that up previously in interviews. Rodgers says some of the same things now. A lot of Green Bay's backup QBs have said it.
