Don't know if anybody caught kiper, nor am i saying he is right, but he has the pack choosing Rivers outta USC.

Very good backer.

I would be pretty happy with that. I hope TT keeps addressing the defense!

Will need to bulk up some, but has a lot of potential.

I saw a couple of USC games and the one thing I remember about him is his speed...fast guy.

These guys looked into their crystal ball and had him going at 12 to Denver.

Rivers, who may be the top LB in the draft, slips all the way down to the end of the first round? I would friggin love it, but I just don't see it with Laurainits now going back to school. I think Rivers is gone by mid-first round.

That was written after his junior year. He is already 10 pounds heavier. Now at 235.

Plus, if you read the report it said until he puts on weight he needs to be a weak side linebacker. I have no problems with him on the weakside in GB.

Not saying that i want us to draft him.

I doubt Rivers will be our pick...he's likely to go before our turn comes up, and he's not really a good fit for us. He's too small to replace Poppinga on the strong side...and I'm not sure I want to displace Hawk, who is starting to get comfortable on the weak side.

With a rather deep talent pool at CB, I'm feeling relatively confident that Thompson will be looking hard at that position with the first pick.

Football's Future has him going 12th, Sporting News 19th. He would probably need a really bad combine to drop to the Packers.

He'll be long gone by the time we pick.

I would be really disappointed if TT invested another 1 in LB. We already have two who should be on the field all the time, which means he would be spending a 1 on a guy who in the best of all worlds is going to see the field less than half the time.

For all the CB talk, I think the first round pick will be BPA.

CB could very well be the BPA in the second round unless Ted trades back from the first round pick.

No one can predict a Ted Thompson draft.

Also, I think it would probably be counterproductive to devote so many resources (money, high draft pick) to a third linebacker. Especially when you consider the fact that in many defensive formations, the third LB is the first player taken off to replace by an extra DB in passing situations.

We have two very solid LBs right now, and already we have to take on off the field in Dime situations. I don't really see any need for a starting third LB that's anything more than "solid" or "dependable", and I think that Poppinga has grown into that player.

We do, however, need depth at Linebacker.

Rivers will be gone. He sounds like a player based on the Senior Bowl thread.
It's a long way to the draft...wait until after the combine for the real hype to kick up. TT will surprise us all.

Just don't let it be a punter.
