Maybe Brandon19 is 100% right....no live thread!

Probably becasue it's a huge social event and folks are having a damn fine time. My wife is watching the lifetime move network....:^(

That leaves me to watch the game by myself. Oh well.....

I wish my team was playing. You guys were a helluva lot closer.

Giants are outplaying the Patriots right now. Manning saw that thing open his adrenaline showed up as he threw it too hard when he didn't have to.

I like the Giants front 4 and if there is one thing that's impressed me about that group, ti's that they do not wear out. The cowboy game they were on teh field all day long and went hard until the very end.

Packers offense did better against the Giants pass rush.

Packers were more safe with their protections. I criticized it at the time because I felt they could have gotten away with more 5 and 6 man protections but the Patriots sure don't seem to be handling it well with 5 and 6 guys.

The Giants are overpowering Maulers; it's tough to match their toughness on the OL and DL

RashanGary
02-03-2008, 06:39 PM
You have to give it to the Patriots though, they don't make costly mistakes in the redzone (neither of them).

Giants have a real shot in this. It looks hot there (the sweat dripping down their faces). The Patriots have been on the field for a long time. I could see the Giants imposing their will in the 2nd half and Brady taking some monster shots as the rested pass rush gets more oppertunities.

Brady doesn't have the time to make anything happen and he goes down easier than any QB in the league. This is the right team in the SB. I said that when I left my moms after the game. I said they earned it, deserve it and would do better than we ever could.

RashanGary
02-03-2008, 06:42 PM
NYG are completely dominating Time of Possession.

Wish the score showed it.

It's very important with the Patriots aging defense and the Giants mauling offense. The Patriots are going to have some trouble in the 2nd half if they don't keep their defense off the field a little.

This game really is going in the Giants favor. They just need to execute in the redzone better.

Is the paint done dry on the field yet?

Or the water done boiling for the heat packs?

Glad I've had chores to do during this game. As many predicted - the Pats would keep it close for the sponsors and blow the doors off this thing in the 2nd half. I see one or two scores for the Giants and 3 or 4 for the Pats.

Off to clean the fishbowl, pick up some new goldfish, get the dry cleaning, cut my hair and finish wedding planning.

Justin Tuck, now there is a Dlineman :wow:

RashanGary
02-03-2008, 07:00 PM
Clearly?

I thought them playing so many games in a row and running through the best teams in the NFC was pretty incredible. The bye teams have a big advantage. I loved the way their defense played late in the Cowboy game when they were getting beat on time of possession. I thought when they played us, they were better than the score showed and they were the most knicked up team in the NFC. NOw they're pretty healthy. I thought the week off would benefit a team that relys so much on the Dline than a team that depends on the offense.

I thought this game could be a huge upset.

RashanGary
02-03-2008, 07:03 PM
I also think Brady is one of the worst QB's at making things happen when the pocket isn't perfect and that favored the Giants pass rush. I also like that the Giants have a new defensive coordinator so the Patriots might not have as much inside knowledge of their signals (even if it's just off 5 years of memory, I think it helps).

b bulldog
02-03-2008, 07:03 PM
Nick, sorry but you didn't pick the Giants to beat the Packers  Now, anyone can clearly say the Gmen are the NFC's best, that is a nobrainer. The first possession in the second half is huge. If the Pats get any points, I still think they will win but if the Giants stop them, the Giants will have a great shot at winning. Coach Spagnola is the CoMVP with Tuck.

b bulldog
02-03-2008, 07:04 PM
Sorry but Brady isn't one of the worst at anything. he is not mobile but he can sidestep a rush at times but clearly not so far today.

Beat 3 road teams and an undefeated Pats. 10 (or 11) straight road wins. Dominating defense. They got hot at the right time and played left it all out there.

The Giants won mainly due to their brilliant front four generating heat on Tom Brady & their D coordinator running creative blitz packages to keep the Pats out of sync.

Brady wasn't on but he wasn't off either. He did what he had to do to win the game in the end, he didn't throw an int to stop his team, he drove them on a winning drive that their D couldn't keep. Try to keep your Brady bashing from clouding your view, Brady didn't allow the Gmen to drive down the field.

Fosco33
02-03-2008, 09:29 PM
That last drive was great.....

2:39 left - down by FG+.

Have to answer Brady.

Start at 17 yr line.

Get a quick 1st down out to the 28 (breathing room).

Get 9.5 yards on 3rd and 10 (down to 1:40). Have to go for 4th and 1 (one play away from season over). Get the 1st down on a run by squeezing in between two players.

Manning almost fumbles and somehow keeps the ball with his calves.
2nd and 5- Samuel nearly intercepts the ball (2nd chance to end the game).

3rd and 5 - nearly sacked a few times - heaved the ball to Tyree who makes a catch that would've been incomplete 9 of 10 times (and intercepted 5 of 10 times) (another chance to end the game).

Down to 0:45, no time outs, 3rd and 11 - complete a pass to Smith while snaking out of bounds (another chance to put the game nearly over).

1st and 10 lob to Burress for the game winning TD (slant and go route to the corner).

Think about all those chances to lose that game in that drive alone. WOW!

Played like shit, he completed close to 60% of his passes, had 260 some yards, 1 TD and 0 pics, played like crap?? Do you have a clue about football.
In regards to Brett, all inhere slam any QB that is considered better than Brett and since Tom is already considered better, let's slam him.

Your crazy, he's won 3 titles and lets wait and see  You better read some more books in the offseason to know what good QB's do and don't and what makes them what they are.

He and Aikman are a lot alike. Tall statues who can't make plays without perfect surroundings but if put on a great team, they are the cherry on the perfect cake.

I disagree that Brady and Aikman are a lot alike. Aikman never lost in a Super Bowl.

I'm not making this a Brett vs. Brady thing

Favre would be my favorite player of all time but I also like Brady

He clutched up at the end when he had to; certainly gets credit for that
Missed his share of passes for much of the game as well; he didn't put up a lot of points with a terrific offense. Like our last game versus the Giants there is plenty of blame to go around and the Pats OL is first in line

I'm a Brady fan so bring it on but if your a Favre fan, watch what you say. Brady didn't make the deadly mistake, did he??

Your Un-dieing love for brady confuses me...

No, Brady didn't throw a boneheaded throw like Brett did to kill his teams chances, he drove them down to take the lead.
