Interesting. I wonder what his personal situation is now?

Don't see it on dabay right now.

Ended yesterday. 28 "Best Offer" bids all declined.
Had a "Buy It Now" price of $49,999.99

The ring was offered by Green Bay Ticket Service. The description stated that they had acquired it from Mastro's Auction house, a large sports memorabilia dealer.

Apparently, Cox or whomever, had already sold it, and dealers are at least the last two owners.

I wonder how common it is for players to sell their Super Bowl rings?

There are a lot rings and other memorabilia that get sold on the private market. It'd shock you to hear who has unloaded their stuff.

On Cox's ring, they did a poor job of blacking out the "X" in his name, so you could tell it was him.

The other thing that is surprising is how little these guys get for their stuff. Most dealers know how hard up the ex-players are and the offers are chicken feed compared to what they are worth.

You can actually see the whole name provided that's what you're looking for

That must of been done by just a magic marker on the pic. I've never known any program that has a blackout option that isn't solid. (not saying there isn't a proggy)

10K gold. Not impressed. Typical Wisco frugality! It's probably 10k because of all the diamonds. Less gold makes a stronger mount.

Thanx.

I totally missed the 2.5 times photo link that you had posted.

I see the x in that photo. But, honestly, that X looks very cheezy. Seems way below par for a SP ring.
