With Favre's 12 million dollars?

Are there any FA's worth blowing the money on?

I think he's going to push it ahead and use it in the flow of good decisions.

When Sherman left, he left very few young players that needed new contracts. Right now, we dont' have good places to spend it because UFA tends to sort of suck and most of our players are too young to reup right now.

Over the next 3-5 years as Thompson reups all of this young talent, we'll start creeping closer and closer to the cap. As for the next couple of years, we'll be one of the healthier teams capwise IMO.

Push it ahead; rebuild the ship slowly

Any free agents now brought in should be young

Everything I have been thinking about concerning the draft and FA just went right out the window at about 8:30 this morning. Go ahead TT, it's your show now.

I think TT needs to start shopping for a FA QB now. I admit the list isn't that appealing, but the QB would need to realize he's a back up to Arod anyway. The Pack needs an experienced QB in case Arod gets hurt.

1. Mark Brunell. He's old but I think he'd be a good back up QB.
2. David Carr. He's young yet, but he might be willing to back up fragile Arod, he has a good arm, and has played behind lousy offensive lines.
3. Byron Leftwich. The guy has a good arm, is strong as a horse and can scramble, and MM might be able to improve his decision making.
4. Trent Green. He's had a lot of concussions but he's got a good arm and is a good leader, if he's willing to be a back up I think he can still play.
5. Jamie Martin. He's from the Saints and might have a grasp of MM's system, plus, TT would get him cheap.

With Rodgers contract going up now, Favre gives us about 7 mil in space (thanks patler for that info). So with about 30-31 mil in space and no free agents that will really take up a lot of space left he (TT) might as well start extending players contracts so all our young good players are here for years to come.

How about giving extensions to these players who will be free agents within the next to years:

Grant
Jennings
Spiltz
Kampman
Pickett
Tauscher
Collins

and a couple others may include Rodgers if he's the future here.......

i'd rather have leftwich, but i think he'll go somewhere to be a starter

but a vet QB is a must, someone that a-rod can turn to for help or with questions. green wouldn't be bad in that role, his head's way too fragile at this point, but he'd be a good mentor role.

brunell wouldn't be bad either, and he knows the system already

Sure as hell not trading for Brady Quinn.

Quinn looked good in some of his play in the preseason

But why would the Browns spend 2 1st round picks then deal him for what TT would be willing to pay before he ever took the field in a real start?

Cackle fiendishly with glee knowing his master plan to ruin the pack is now finally on sked.

He needs a good shrink first. He sees dead people.

Ok so they're not dead, but he thinks they're there when they're not.
