The Packers signed two of their exclusive-rights players this week, tight end Tory Humphrey and fullback John Kuhn, according to the NFL's internal transaction wire.

Humphrey, a third-year pro, is a backup tight end whom the Packers think highly of but who's had major injury problems since entering the NFL. He missed all of last season because of a broken bone in his ankle and seven games at the end of the 2006 season while on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury.

The Packers picked up Kuhn, a third-year pro, off waivers after Pittsburgh cut him last season at the end of training camp.

Well, you gotta start somewhere. Hopefully this is a sign of some more resigning and extensions, preferably some bigger names coming soon.

I thought Kuhn was doing a fine job. He wasn't called on in the passing game the way Korey Hall was used.

You wouldn't want to waste a draft pick on replacing him.

Humphrey if healthy may learn to be the #3 TE.

The Packers weren't going to forfeit their rights to these guys.

Wow, way to go for the championship. Two players who are on the roster that aren't productive. NICE! Keep up the youth movement. It will take us far without REAL NFL players.

We did ok with these two on the roster last year. Besides, aren't you the one who's always calling for more depth? You don't get Pro Bowlers as backups unless they're old can can't keep up anymore.
