2. ** Reggie Smith Height: 6-01/2 | Weight: 199 | 40-Time: 4.61
Official Bio
Strengths:
A smooth natural athlete...Good size and bulk...Very strong...A great leaper..Quick and plays faster than he times...Has fluid hips...Excellent range...Great hands and ball skills...A reliable tackler...Physical and will support the run...Smart with terrific instincts and awareness..Really versatile and can also contribute as a return man.
Weaknesses (Concerns):
Timed speed's relatively average...Lacks a burst to close...Has to put in some time when it comes to footwork...Can be a little too aggressive...He doesn't have much experience at cornerback....Could struggle to turn and run with pro wide receivers in man coverage....Might be a bit of a 'tweener....Has some minor health concerns.
Notes:
Highly-regarded recruit out of high school...Three-year starter who stepped in and made a instant impact as a true freshman..Played safety in 2005 and 2006 before moving to cornerback as a junior....Broke his big right toe late in the 2007 season which prevented him from working out for teams until early April...Is probably best suited for free safety at the next level but he can certainly play corner in the right situation...One of the most versatile defensive backs in this draft...Definite starter.

4. Tyrell Johnson Arkansas St. 5-117/8 207 4.45
Safety just may be the weakest position in this draft but that has allowed a relative unknown like Johnson to surface as an interesting prospect. A smart, productive, physical safety with good athleticism, Johnson didn't receive a lot of national attention because of where he went to school but that has not stopped the NFL from noticing him. In the last few months Johnson has ever so quietly emerged as one of the top rated safeties in this draft and at this point it doesn't look like there is much of a chance he will make it out of the 2nd round
