I think he's looking at the group. I'd go lower than what you and Bretsky gave them, but I'd give Grant himself a B. As a group, I'd probably go B- or C+.

Putting this whole thing in perspective, no team has all A's or even close.

Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson and whoevers best of teh 3 or 4 good prospects we have at the back is an A. How many teams have 2 #1 recievers and Jordy Nelson and James Jones behind them? I think our WR corp might be the best in the league or damn near. You think you can go down any roster and rattle off all A's? Hell, the Giants just won the SB and they their WR corp is mearly average. Their DB's are below average.

The most optimistic thing I can say about this team is the overall roster and the stable coaching situation. I don't think there are many teams as strong as this team and of the teams that are in the upper tier, even fewer have as many young, up and coming guys. I always get this way after the draft and I do reserve teh right to backtrack after the preaseason, but I think this team is poised for really good things. This roster is just impressive to me. It's even more impressive when you compare it to other teams and other Packer teams just a couple years ago.

I am concerned about the pass rush. If they don't get that fixed, they'll always be a pretender, but they're definity on track and should be playoff competitive this year again.

I completely agree; when we let CW go we lost penetration, pressures, and sacks from the DT position. We need somebody to pick that up and we need the current players to step it up on the pass rush.

TT sure has set up AROD nicely though with some loaded talent at the skill positions. If only we did that years ago when BF was in his prime.

Some of the new guys have about 30 practices to improve and impress or they are gone.

Yet somehow there is always an undrafted free agent rookie that makes the team.

I'll give two grades.

The first is how I think the guys that will get the most playing time will do this year:

QB - C
RB - B+
FB - C+
WR - A-
TE - B
OL - B
DE - B
DT - B-
LB - A-
CB - B+
S - C+

HarveyWallbangers

The second grade is how I feel about the position going forward and what we might have their in two years (kind of the grading of the depth and the prospects):

QB - B+
RB - B
FB - B-
WR - A-
TE - B+
OL - C+
DE - B
DT - B+
LB - A-
CB - C
S - B

I agree TT should have stocked pile the offense for Favre however, Our D needed to get improved. We have addressed that for the couple drafts. Remember TT has been the GM for the last 4 years. Ron Wolf was the GM when Favre was in his prime. Give TT some credit with the drafts he has had. This draft class was very solid. We got good players, Perhaps some of the picks in the later rounds didn't perform as well during college but their pro potential is off the roof! TT addressed the D last few drafts this time around was the Offensive turn. I am happy about the Jordy Nelson pick. We solified the WR position. Added depth to our offensive line. Got a gritty great hands TE which we needed, Backup QB situation solved. I'd rate the draft B+.

I obviously feel a lot better about our QB situation than anyone here....With Rodgers' talent and the weapons around him, along with the lack of great QBs in the NFC (Romo, and then who?) I would be surprised if Rodgers doesn't at least get consideration for the Pro Bowl.

Last year there were HUGE concerns about WR, OL, RB, and S at this time. One of the benefits of having the youngest team in the league is that every year more young players are going to step up and some new heros are going to emerge as well just like Jennings, Grant, and Bigby. I expect every single area of the team to get better with the exception of course of QB. That being said, I can't imagine a better QB situation for us to be in all things considered. So yeah the offense may get worse but I expect the defense to more than make up for it.

I expect the Packers to walk away with this division again. We should do this for all the other teams in the division too.

I don't know, I personally don't have a good feel for the rosters of the Bears, Lions, or Vikings. I know who most of the relevant starters are, but I can't for the life of me break down the #4 CB for the Vikes (or name him). I doubt anybody knows the Lions very well.

It is a mistake to think that Robinson won't make the team. In his limited time with us he has shown he has the speed and the ability. But then again, he is probably everyone's red headed step child this season.

Speed? Koren Robinson looked like the receiver version of Noah Herron last year.

For the life of me, I can not recall a single play during which Robinson showed anything more than average speed for a WR, or average ability as a WR. Maybe there were some of those plays, but they sure made no impression on me.

For the most part, I remember average run-of-the-mill plays from him, and some of what he did too often in Seattle, a mistake here and there, and dropping a few that he shouldn't.

Unlike Jennings, or even Jones, I remember no plays as a WR from Robinson that make me look forward to seeing him this year anymore than I look forward to seeing Ruvell Martin.

Ya, but K-Rob showed willingness. Every time he was on the field, he showed "I want da ball".

Cost us some against the Giants, BTW.

Has nothing to do with making the team..He's not signed...

With the drafting of Nelson, I'd doubt he gets signed either..

Robinson looked OK last year.

You have to remember that this is a guy who couldn't even PRACTICE with the team for an entire year. To expect a guy coming off injury and that didn't practice at all with the team for a year to play lights out is a little crazy IMO.

Robinson is likely to look much better after actually going through a training camp with the team. However, he also might have the most trade value to a team that is lacking in WR/return talents.

I think if Martin or Robinson don't improve over last year, one of them is gone. If they are both better than last year and Swain, Bodiford, Francies, and the UDFA crew don't absolutely set the world on fire we keep 6 WR and stash some of those guys on the PS if they have elligibility.

Most of last year we had 6 WR on the roster, I see no reason to believe that it's implausible to do so this year. Robinson makes the team (or not) on his own merits, as does Martin. Everybody else outside of the certain four has to really surprise, or hope someone else disappoints. But there's always injuries in TC, so who knows.

When he was suspended, they said his contract would be extended for one additional year to cover the time of the suspension.

The Packers have a lot of Olineman. I think they're going to want to keep grooming guys at CB. They ahve more LB's worthy of roster spots. They'll have 3 QB's this year. 6 WR's is going to be tough to pull off, esspecially if they are guys like Martin and Robinson who are worse than our top 4 and will never get better. If I had to guess right now, I'd guess Swain makes it becuase he has upside and if that happens, I think it's very unlikely that they take a spot from another part of the team to keep Ruvell or Krob.

My guess is Swain doesn't make it, and that KoRo and Ruvell are fighting for one spot. I think Ruvell is the favorite to win that 5th spot.
