wow, tank, you know about those early John Lennon albums!? I'm impressed.
On same theme, "I Found Out"
I told you before stay away from my door
Don't give me that brother, brother, brother
The freaks on the phone won't leave me alone
So don't give me that brother, brother, brother
I found out
Now that I showed you what I been through
Don't take nobody's word what you can do
There ain't no Jesus gonna come from the sky
Now that I found out I know I can cry
I found out
Some of you sitting there with your cock in your hand
Don't get you nowhere don't make you a man
I heard something bout my ma and my pa
They didn't want me so they made me a star
I found out
Old hare Krishna got nothing on you
Just keep you crazy with nothing to do
Keep you occupied with pie in the sky
There ain't no Guru who can see thru your eyes
I found out
I been through junkies I been through it all
I've seen religion from Jesus to Paul
Don't let them fool you with dope and cocaine
Can't do you no harm to feel your own pain
I found out

The Rolling Stones
Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
What's me name
Tell me, baby, what's my name
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
Also...good article on that song.

I thought ONo had a sucessful music career of her own. No? From what I've read, she was instrumental in the Beatles breakup. Lennon just wouldn't let her leave his side (or the other way around).

I think Yoko Ono is OK. She had a lot of influence on those Lennon solo albums. She didn't break-up the beatles, Lennon was tired of being a beatle for a long time.

I have it on reasonably good authority the absolute SUREST way to clear out a crowded night club is to play ten minutes of Yoko Ono.
Still like "Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden for my 6-6-6 muscal tribute.
BTW, 666s show up in my SS number. Maybe I'm the spawn of Satan.
Or, you know, not.

Well, Harlan, im not gonna argue with you cos you are the historian. I can tell you who Chris Martin married (Gwyneth Paltrow) and their children names (Apple and Moses). I only know Yoko Ono is Lennon's beloved 2nd wife, and honest in truth, never listened to her before.

Thanks red. With fear of sounding egotistical, I thought that was pretty f'in funny, given the controversy around the number. I made myself laugh. Glad someone else did too.

It was my daughters birthday on the 6th and my wife and I got a good laugh about it.
Lets clear up some of the talk on the Beatles. Remember that Paul left the Beatles before anyone else did, unless you are counting the time that Harrison walked out of the studio when they were recording Let it Be and told the band he was finished. John was basically like, screw him, we will get Eric Clapton if he doesn't return tomorrow. But that is neither here nor there. Paul released his solo album right before Let it Be was to hit store shelves, and it really pissed off the rest of the Beatles, even though most of them agreed that Abby Road was the last Beatles album. yoko Donut was a piece of work, but to say she broke up the Beatles on her own is hog warsh. They simply got to big. John was in the middle of a 5 year drug binge that kept getting worse and worse, and it was truly effecting his music.
Paul started to believe that he was the Beatles, and was trying to push John out of the roll has the bands leader, which I understand since John was stoned on H most of the time. In a way, if it wasn't for Paul Let it Be and Abby Road probably would have never gotten done. Paul has a way about him that just rubs people the wrong way, and if your John Lennon, you don't have to put up with his shit.
Harrison wanted out as well. He had to play second fiddle to John and Paul for a better part of 10 years and he was fed up. He wanted to go solo he had the music ready to go, but he still felt a loyalty to the band.
And then there was poor Ringo. Ringo had a little of this and a little of that going on, but he surely didn't need the Beatles to go under. He was a 2nd rate drummer to begin with and he wrote very little material.
Ono did push John in a way to leave the Beatles, but not for her personal gain, more for John's. The Beatles were burning John Lennon out. She along with some others thought that John could be bigger than the Beatles, and as we all know none of them could ever match the greatness of the Beatles on their own. McCartney is still trying at almost 70 years old.

Ringo may have been a 2nd rate drummer, but he was first rate in "Caveman".
