The three things that led up to this...

1) Favre on Retirement papers - he didn't hand them in...

2) Favre on David Letterman - "Something is bound to happen"

3) Cancellation of the golf tourney - I think its right before training camp.

Now isn't it funny how everytime he would do something there would be 5 different threads about how this had nothing to do about how he wanted to come back...

Looking back at it each point its funny how the people that thought these were signs on how he might want to come back were right on the mark...

I still see absolutely no relationship between his perhaps wanting to come back and #1 or #3 of your list. I do for #2, but absolutely none for either #1 or #3.

Oh come on. Given Favre's public anguish over the decision for the past half decade, I don't think anybody was shocked by this. You hardly needed a crystal ball to predict this possibility.
