"FAVRE SITE PUTS HEAT ON THOMPSON
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 10, 2008, 2:43 p.m.
Our friends at Packergeeks pointed out to us that the official Brett Favre web site is currently featuring an article that puts some heat on Packers General Manager Ted Thompson for Thompson’s stance on Favre’s possible comeback.
The Favre site re-posts a story by Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette under the headline, “Thompson takes heat for Favre retirement.” The story features one quote after another from people close to Favre, all criticizing Thompson.
Among the quotes are Favre’s mother, Bonita Favre, saying, “He has felt like that for the last couple of years, that the Packers didn’t really want him back,” and Biloxi Sun Herald reporter Al Jones, a friend of Favre’s, saying, “It all comes down to Ted Thompson. The main thing is the man has shown no respect to perhaps the greatest quarterback in their franchise history. Brett’s a little disappointed. He feels like he can still play. He knows he can still play.”
We don’t know if Favre actually has anything to do with the official Brett Favre web site, but the site comes across as though it’s intended to give fans a piece of Favre’s mind. So posting that Vandermause story, with all those quotes critical of Thompson, speaks volumes."

This is a little reminiscent of his Javon Walker, Sterling Sharpe activity. It's an unnecessary "stirring of the pot". Like the heat needs to be turned up even more??
