The Vikings are expected to unveil their new uniforms late next month during the week leading into the NFL draft, following a recent tradition of teams maximizing the draft frenzy that culminates in on-site draft parties. Team officials have described the changes as relatively subtle. One of the more significant changes is expected to be the reintroduction of purple pants, although it is unclear whether they will be used for road or home games.

I don't like their colors, but I like the all purple over their current uniforms.

There were rumors on KFAN.com that they were going to change the helmet. Is that true or not?

Wilf can do no wrong. Why were they even considering a change from the horns? That is the best part of their uniform.

We don't know if it was even being considered...

Anyway, your first part is correct...

I forget which game last year but as I was leaving the dome a chant broke out (may have been the Green Bay game, actually it was)

Actually I've heard they are ditching the purple all together. I live in the Twin Cities and I was able to come across some top secret images of the new uniforms from the Winter Park office. SEE BELOW:

NEW VIKINGS JERSEYS ARE UGLY

A reader has sent to us various images of the new Vikings jerseys, which are scheduled to be unveiled on Thursday afternoon. Here's a look-see at the shirts to be worn by quarterback Brad Johnson.

It appears that the organization has ditched the profile of Hulk Hogan in a horn hat from the sleeves, relegating the Hulkster to the back of the jersey, just under the collar.

We think the new shirts are ugly. The yellow collar on the home jersey stands out too much, and the old yellow and purple shoulder stripes on the away shirts (a la LSU and UCLA) should have been retained.

Another new feature for the Vikings this year will be purple pants. Also, many observers expect the helmet logo to incorporate the more three-dimensional horn that currently appears on the front page of the Vikings' web site.

Well I just think they are asking for it. The North is a division of old storied teams, with old storied uni's......not Arena ball ones. I hope Wilf knows that good football sells tickets not new jerseys. Actually I hope he doesn't. So Ras do you have you're new Brad Johnson Jersey already ordered?

i even read that Ziggy wants to chagne the logo on the helmet....I, personally, maybe i'm young,but i'm old school, and just don't like the new look. too Arizona to me. i donno. doesn't fit the NFC North to me.

I don't like them, but don't really care. Viking fans should revolt like Packer fans did when Wolf wanted to change uniforms.

I didn't love their old uniforms, but at least they had nearly 50 years in essentially the same uniform. These aren't kick ass enough to change the tradition.

Can skin change the picture of Hawk sacking Johnson?
