Bears signed WR/KR Devin Hester to a four-year, $30 million extension through 2013. The deal includes $15 million guaranteed and can max out at around $40 million depending on incentives.

He'll start practicing now. Only 25, Hester is arguably already the greatest return man the NFL has ever seen. The Bears are keeping their fingers crossed that he can help them on offense. We see that as a pretty poor bet, but he certainly has more potential than Rashied Davis as a slot receiver. Just don't expect a big fantasy impact if Hester starts.

Finally some good news this offseason.

Bears blow their wad on some guy expecting he will be their whole offense. Hope urlacher feels like playing strong defense because the bears aint gonna score points for shit.

Didn't anyone in the Bears front office pay attention to Duante Hall's career?

Hester's a talented returner. Those guys have a short shelf life.

makes me that much more happy TT is the GM of my GB Packers!!! he may be shrewed (spelling?), but i'll take that over handing out money like that to a return man... haha

Devin Hester is such an overrated pile. Unfortunately he's a lucky overrated pile. How can one man win such a miserable team so many games?

He's an idiot with no sense, also.

I have said for years that I think special teamers are way underrated in terms of importance. The guy can score a touchdown in the blink of an eye.

So I think he deserves a lot of money. But not for such a long time, and not because he's going to be a great wide receiver.

Everyone's forgetting how well the Packers did in the SB after Desmond Howard left. :(
