I think the coverage of training camp gets more and more ridiculous every year. I tend to read the summaries, some of the blogs, etc. But when I get to the play by play descriptions, I skip over them entirely. I find it too confusing:

Should I be happy when the offense does well, or concerned that the defense didn't?
Should I be concerned when the offense does poorly, or happy that the defense did well?

OH, DARN! Rogers threw an interception....but....YEAH! Woodson got a pick!
Yes! Rogers threw a TD! Damn! Collins got burned again!

How do I know if I should be encouraged or discouraged?

I normally skip over them, as well--although I sometimes skim them to see if I can see the results of a good matchup.

I find them entertaining, at least. It's a welcome distraction from Farvegate anyways.

And considering that we're not playing anyone, there's no celebration or pouting to it. Instead, they are useful to get a better idea where our guys stand.

You also get to learn more about the unknowns, like Taj Smith and Evan Moore. It's good to know that they at least have the capability of making a play.
