FAVRE TO ARRIVE IN GREEN BAY TODAY
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 31, 2008, 4:17 p.m.
The Green Bay Press-Gazette is reporting that Brett Favre is flying into Green Bay today.
The Press-Gazette (which, like us, has discovered the joys of FlightAware.com) reports that Favre will make the trip to Green Bay in a plane belonging to a friend of Favre’s agent, Bus Cook. Favre has used the plane before.
The plane is scheduled to take off at 4:10 p.m. and land at Austin Straubel International in Green Bay at 6:45 p.m.
Presumably, Favre is flying up because he’s planning to report to the Packers’ training camp tomorrow. Green Bay’s first Friday practice session starts at 8:45 a.m.
That doesn’t mean we’ll see No. 4 on the practice field tomorrow. Favre still needs to be reinstated, which hasn’t officially happened yet. And the Packers are allowed to drag their feet for 24 hours before putting him on the active roster. Once he’s activated he’d need to take a physical and complete the running test that other players have already taken.
But as it stands right now, Favre is just a few hours away from Green Bay.
