ESPN is saying that the Packers have offered Brett some sort of deal that would include him being in Marketing and Merchandise.,........and it would keep him with the Packers......but still retired.

I can see Favre as the official greeter at the Packer Hall of Fame. Just like the old boxers at the casinos in Vegas.

What exactly would 'Marketing and Merchandise' mean?......seriously.

vince

It would probably mean that Brett could sit at home and do whatever he wants - without bad-mouthing the franchise, and for $2 mil/year, the Packers can use his name and likeness in their marketing and merchandising campaigns.

Hahahaha, if this is true, the Packers are DESPERATE for Favre to remain retired a Packer. Hell, at this rate they'll end up offering him a job as QB coach.

I remember hearing somewhere that they already did offer him a player/coaching position during that phone call in june, but he wasn't interested.

I thought it was the other way around? Favre asked TT for a coaching option......

I'm not sure I'd want Favre coaching my young QB's anyway. Favre was a great QB, but the way he did it isn't the way I'd want my guys doing it.

Let's replace Flynn with Brohm in that conversation. I see Brohm as a young Favre.
Here's how the conversation would go with Rodgers in Week 1 if Favre was QB coach.

Rodgers: Damn, I broke my leg. I'm coming out of the game.
Favre: You're what? Don't be a pussy and play.
Rodgers: I can't take the pain!
Favre: Pussy. Give me my helmet!

Maybe they could use Brett in Packers commercials to sell certain products.
Like: Health Insurance.
Brett walks into TT's office and starts talking to Ted about health insurance for the team just in case a certain quarterback gets injured on the job.
Or; Preparation H.
Brett again walks into TT's office and Ted doesn't look too good and tells a worried Brett that he's suffering from Hemorrhoids. Brett tosses TT a tube of Preparation H and says "try this", then leaves the room. TT says " I feel better already".
The possibilities are endless!

No I remember that. I also remember not scoring a point. When Rodgers throws a TD after suffering a concussion come talk to me.

Where in that does it say anything about scoring a damn point? I see a bunch of BS about Rodgers not being able to play through pain, which I went ahead and proved to be false - i.e. that Rodgers WILL play through pain. Then you said something about scoring, something never mentioned in your first post. Stop trying to change the subject simply because your original arguement has been defeated.

There, I hope that cleared that up for ya.

Haha, I never knew you could act like a dumbass. I was making a freaking joke in my original post. Favre is an iron man and would never miss a game. If he was the QB coach, he wouldn't want any QB leaving the game as hard headed as he is. Then you said some shit about how quickly we forget about Rodgers playing through pain. Then i just said yeah and I remember that game, we got blew out. 2 seperate freakin conversations. I'm not trying to change the subject and I'm not presenting an argument to be defeated. You're being weird.

Well, if it was meant as a joke then I apologize for taking it the wrong way. You've been on the pro-Favre/anti-TT side of every arguement I can recall you being in, so I did not take it as a joke. I took it as another Hangnail Rodgers remark. If this is not how you intended it then I apologize.

I don't think there will be any lingering hard feelings. I think most people see the other side of the argument.
